It dosn't matter what you drive there is always going to be assholes running their mouths. Of course it's easier to pick on a V6 sports car but that just makes it that much more fun when you mod up and can tell them to put money where their mouth is. I understand why people don't think much of the V6 but it's not like it's a hopeless engine. Try driving a 4cyl S-10 like I did for years that can only be built up to about 200hp before things start breaking.. now thats a hopeless cause. Oddly enough though there wasn't much rivalry between the 4cyl and V6 S-10 guys. Everyone was supportive of each other which is somthing I miss after switching to a Stang. Mustang guys are too competitive within their own groups. It should be us against them not against each other but I guess thats a whole different arguement..

Yeah, I drove an Auto V6 which is just as bad... and i mean i had reason... its not like i avoided the manuals.. and now my dad says i can get any car i want with the 5k AS LONG AS.... it isnt all rusty and primered and ****ty looking, AND it has an automatic transmission... kuz he thinks ill go out and burn the clutch trying to race etc.. when ive been driving a manual 4cyl 94 Ranger (pos btw...) but anyway.. even tho im getting a car with more punch and cylinders i get the occasional ribbing for having an Auto, yet people dont kno why i have it or that the car i wanted came with one.. and when i do say that they tell me to just do an tranny swap..and im like wow.. your an idiot..

A tranny swap is pretty simple on an OBD 1 car.

most people tell me i have a nice car, but there is always the guy who is like why get a mustang if you aren't getting a GT. that is their opinion, i'm happy with my car, and wouldn't think of trading/selling it now that i have it paid off and i know it's maintenance history. i'll probably keep it for another 3-4 years until i'm out of grad school and then get a mustang GT because at that point i will be financially stable enough to afford one.

i'm in NoVa and traffic SUCKS. it's like the 3rd worst in the country. stupid me of course bought a 6 speed for my daily driver though. i want autos but i get bored and feel empty without that stick. then when i'm in traffic i don't want the stick!
how do you feel when you are walking towards your car after you had it washed and waxed? judging by your pic, pretty good.
it wouldnt matter to me that it is a six, yours (and mine and a lot of other sixers) look great. why would someone talk crap about a nice looking car? cause they're jealous.
the other side of the coin is when someone hands you your a$$ in a faster car and talks smack about yours being a six. you cant make that stop happening, but can lessen the frequency..thats what drives me to do some performance mods
5spd + chicago traffic = i hate all cars

Yeah, round here theres tons of traffic kuz they are constantly doing construction and not to mention traffic is worse going to school, which is up hill and theres stop lights goin up the hill which means WAY too much stop and go..... A manual is just more than i want to bargan for in an older car in my area

I used to catch crap all the time for owning my old 98 V6. My family used to get mad at me for throwing money into the car trying to make it fast, then I had to remind them that it was them that made me get the car. I'm glad I have the 5.0 now, suits my nature better.
Also, Josh, remember, while you may be getting a car with a V8, you're getting yourself into a brand new bag of problems. While I know you hate computer based cars, I think you're gonna love them again after you get an older car. I can't tell you how bad of an idea that is. My buddy swore up and down an older car was better. His dad gave him, and I mean gave him an old V8 Baracuda, but the damn thing was always being worked on for repairs, becuase no matter how good it is, it's just an old car that needs constant work for one reason or another. The other thing to remember, is that while it may have a V8, it's more than likely an old (the original engine the car came with) engine that's wore out. Also, while older Camaros were decent on power for the time, by modern standards they're way out of date. Hell, then handeling will suck balls. Granted, if and I mean IF the engine can take a h/c/i swap and use a high flow 4 barrel carburater, you won't be able to corner with the car. Serriously Josh, you're getting yourself into something you have no idea about. Not trying to disway you, but I am warning you. I know how the people you go to school with think, and even though they drive mommy and daddays car that was given to them with only a 4 banger and a German name, they will probably be able to beat you simply because your car will be in the shop, or won't handel worth a fud. I'm glad you're selling your car, but from personal experiance here, you really should look into a 90s+ car, and not something made back during the time of the oil embargo, wood stock, and vietnam.
