My buddy says his 18x8s rub on the front of his 2000 V6 (at full lock), and said if I got 18x9s on the front of my 1999 GT it would rub like hell (when at full lock left or right).

Is this true, and if so how bad? An hour of searching didn't turn up any concrete answers...

Let me put it this way, my friends will drive behind me, and turn off their stereos just so they can listen to my exhaust.

And my buddy with a 2000 V6 and Magnaflows which are pretty loud, CANNOT hear his exhaust over mine when he drives around with me.

You'll always down shift early, cause the sound is amazing.

I think that about covers it :)

As long as the offset is correct and the tire size isn't too large a 18 x 9 would work.

I'm probably going to go with Ford Racing SVT Bullit 18s (I'm looking at them on your site: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=wheelCloseUp&wheelMake= SVT&wheelModel=Bullitt+18&wheelFinish=Chrome+Plate d), so I'm sure I can get those in the appropriate offset, right?

Anyone? No one has 18x9s on the front of their 1999-2004?

We don't list the SVT bullit for your car in 18 x 9. We have the shelby torq thrust M in 18 x 9 and 18 x 10

Ok, that was my concern, does that mean the offsets on the SVTs will be incorrect for my car? Since the design of the SVTs doesn`t allow for a dish, but it does on the Shelby design?

Thanks.

In conclusion to this thread, for anyone who searches for this in the future, 18x9 will fit on the front no prob with a 24mm offset. Just don't put a tire wider than 265 on them and you'll be fine.
