if its one of those ones that installs in the side of the trunk, that would be cool....there's a guy on here who does custom fiberglass work...you might wana find him...he does AMAZING work. He would build you one im pretty sure. Also...as far as the sub...get one 12" w3 a JL audio sub. 250/1 or 300 watt amp would do you great. Can get them cheap on ebay now and they're LOUD!

I put a JL Audio W6 12" sub in a slow ported box i mounted it to the back seat of car and than built a false wall to make it look factory installed. Than i flush mounted the JL Audio 500/1 in the floor above the spare tire wheel. I will look around to see if i can find some pics to show you how it looked. I have done that in alot of cars it looks nice and in the long run its CHEAP, EASY, and CUSTOM LOOK. If the sub is small enough you can always put it in the spare wheel well and flush mount the amp on the back of the seat.

Have that sub box and love it its great have a 12' inch JL Audio W3 hits hard and is perfect cause it hides in the corner. BTW Got it from Crutchfield. :)

Since this is a subject i need help with also maybe you guys can give me some advice. So right now i just got some 12" pioneer 600 watt subs and a 760 watt amp in the trunk but ive been looking to upgrade. I like the JL W3's but im a little confused by a couple things.

#1 What is the difference in 2 ohms, 4 ohms and 8 ohms?

#2 What type of amp would i want to match with a W3? Im not sure how much power you need to support those subs. For amps they have a 250/1 Mono, 300/2 amp, 500/1 amp. Actually here is the link to where im looking at the amps http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=page.display&page_ID=14&categ ory_ID=3&mfg_account_ID=6&sort=name

#3 Does the dynomat really work to help stop the rattle? Mustang trunks are known to rattle heavily with the subs which is kind of annoying. How much does it help?

Thanks

The dynamat helps a good amount but then again when the sub was installed the dynamat went in as well so really dont know the difference also using dynamat behind the license plate. Theres only one rattle and I think its coming from the medallion cause if I hold it in it stops so that you cant control unless you decide to take it off, BTW Crutchfield does offer it without a sub.

Cant really answer you on the ohms question not very good with that, LOL! For the amp you just need a single channel amp unless you want to bridge it, right now im running 300 to the sub and I think thats its RMS rating so its perfect but I think that 250 should be fine. Also the dynamat does help I know that for sure but not sure how big of a difference it is because the sub went in at the same time the dynamat did, but theres only one rattle and its from the medallion so that should give you an idea.

I am also looking to add a sub in my trunk. I am going with either the MTX Thunderform or the Scosche enclosure with a Kicker comp sub. I have this amp:
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u59/billz24/ppiamp2.jpg

PPI 800.5 4x75w plus a class D 200w mono sub amp all in one. This amp rocks. I had it driving 2-10"kicker Solobaric L7s and it was amazing. I am planning on just going with one 12" in the passenger side corner and need a good sub set-up. Anyone with the MTX box have any feedback about it? Will it hit hard enough to match the 2 L7s?

Just installed the amp in my trunk. Paint turned out perfect and all I need is to buy a sub and hook this baby up!

I would recmmend one sub. I have Image Dynamics ID Max 12 and using a Memphis Belle 5 channel to power everything in my car.
