My dad's buddy just finished building a 92 GT. It is stock except for Flowmaster catback. I know for a fact everything is done right. It had front damage, but it's fixed perfect. He wants $5200. The only drawback is that it's an auto. The speedo reads 64xxx and he thinks it's original. Do I go with it or wait on a stick?

Dude. On my second stick car now and I wouldn't have it any other way, it's just not the same driving an auto.

id pass no matter what tranny it had. tell him youll give him $3000 and do a tranny swap if you want a t5.

i dont care if the car looks perfect now, if it was still in a wreck, it could have a bent frame so i wouldnt bother.

I understand where you guys are coming from, but I honestly trust this guy's work. He had to only replace the front clip the hood because it had a smalldent, one fender, and a fanshroud. Is there any way to check out the frame to make sure it's stillsquare?
Oh and I am amanual guy all the way, but a Lentech valve body would be nice.

Alright I ain't getting my mind set on anything right now. It is a little steep in price. I was thinking that if I'm paying myself, I am going to find what I want.

I dunno, I sold my 4.6 after the wreck, too many issues. I am a firm believer that once they're wrecked, they're never the same. And if by chance you do, def go find you a T5 and throw it in there. Driving an auto is like laying back and getting some, when you got a stick (no pun intended) you can get right in there and tear some **** up. ok crappy analogy or maybe not. 5200 seems a bit high tho, specially if its been in an accident.

even if it wasnt wrecked i still wouldnt pay 5200 bux for a stock mustang.
you can buy one with a bad motor for $2000 and spend $1000 rebuilding the motor (probably less depending on whats gone bad).
