My nephew has an early 85 SVO. There is a relay that goes under the dash above the clutch pedal, his got hot and shorted out and in the process, due to heat and age the plug to it crumbled when he pulled it out and the wires are now hanging loose out of order. My brother bought him the new relay, and they located a plug in a wreaking yard in a non-SVO mustang. The problem is I cannot locate a wiring diagram that shows this relay or if it does it doesn't have the proper number of wires going into it. His has 6 wires as shown in one of the photos, the plug from the wreaking yard has 7 and they are not color coded the same as his. The relay has 8 possible connection points! My brother also said he belives there was a Jumper wire from one of the positions to anouther. I have pictures of the relay, the replacement plug and the lose wires. the wires are colored:
orange with black stripe purple with brown? stripe tan? with yellow stripe black with yellow dotted stripe yellow with red stripe gray with yellow stripe
the relay positions are numbered starting at the alignment ear 1 thru 8
If anyone who has an 85 could look at their car and let me know what positions which wire goes too or if someone has a wiring diagram that has the lay out could share that with me I would really appreciate the help.

ORIGINAL: TRBOPWR
1. yellow with red 2. orange with black 3. black 4. purple with yellow 5. gray with yellow 6. black with yellow stripes
This order is with the yellow and red closest to the door and the black with stripes closest to the clutch.
I took some pictures, but now I can't find the attachment to transfer them to the computer.
Sweet that will help out alot. Are they all grouped together or are there any spaces between some? Hate to plug them all up in a row and have it be wrong. If you can get a picture that would be awesome!

TRBOPWR, That picture worked perfect THANK YOU!! only had one wire that was a different color. Car fired up and every thing worked! But it wouldn't keep running, we found that the fuel pump was leaking and wasn't keeping pressure on the injectors. So that is the next task at hand. Then the front main seal and exhaust manifold leak. That should do it and it will be back on the road. Best part of all this is My brother is willing to sell me the car If I can come up with the money. Guess my nephew has lost interest in the car and is too lazy to work on it. My wife loves the car and wants it so if things work out we'll have His and Hers stangs in the drive!

Try to get a hold of it, they are very neat cars. A couple of small adjustments, and hers will be faster than yours.
BTW, if you plan on modifying it any, while it is tore all apart would be a good time to upgrade the fuel pump...
