I currently have the stock shifter in place and I'm not too fond of it. I'm looking for a shifter that has a shorter throw and will allow me to find third and fourth easier. Anybody have any imput on the Steeda Tri-Ax or the Pro- 5.0?
Steeda Tri_Axe for sure. That shifter is spring loaded for 3rd and 4th so you will have no problem finding them. I have one and I love it. I have had not a single problem.
Hopefully, I'll have my new shifter by the weekend in place (MGW) and I'll let you know how that feels. If you read that SVT forum, you'll find most people are torn over the 5.0 and the Steeda for the T-56. Everyone has their opinion on how they feel so it's hard to get a distinct answer. However, what you will find quite common is that people were replacing the stick with the MGW one, so I figured why not just get the whole thing from them? Why pay for two things?
Got my MGW installed (red handle) it has a definite feel to it. Easier to reach 5th and R than the stock. It might be imposible to shift to the wrong gear with this shifter.
