this is for the gt but it is basically the same thin i believe.
Tell me how you like it, i tried my friends gt who has it and im hesitant to buy it, because its very crunchy. Maybe the v6 one will be better. Good luck with it and keep us updated
I'm looking to do this to my coupe. I vauguely remember hearing about the loss of a positive shifter stop with the change. Is that true?
Our Tremec T-5's have internal shift stops. They do not require shifter mounted stops. It wont hurt to get a shifter with em, but i have only heard of one guy who manages to blast past the internal stop. He went through a car a year for a while, laughing at the messes he made, and not a smart man....LOL

Thanks for the info. This is a cheap alternative to buying an entirely new shifter, and it will still be as quiet as when the factory built it (the Hurst shifter installs I've seen allow add'l drivetrain noise into the cabin).

Had the hurst short shifter for a while now. It might feel a little bit stiffer and harder to shift for some people, it didnt bother me though - it was way better than stock. The throw is drastically reduced and im sure you'll have fun driving your car with it (except on traffic jams and frequent stops...). It took me about an hour and a half to install it, not that hard. you do need a good set of jack stands and a socket wrench with extensions.

i met a guy over the weekend that had a Hurst shifter. i actually got to try it and it was nice. however, he said that sometimes it's hard to shift into 3rd gear. he also said that when driving on the freeway, the shifter rattles.
I have the Saleen, and have driven the Hurst and Pro5. I like the Saleen because it is longer throw than the Hurst, shorter than the pro5 and much smoother. than either. It is about 4.5 inches from first to second. I am using stock bushings. I also added an MRT shift ball to drop the stick height by 1.5 inches over the stock shifter. It still uses the stock boot and 12.25mm thread. My wifes uncle who has been a mustang racer/owner for 40 years and has owned, 66Fast back hi-po, Boss 302, Boss 429, Mach1 and Cobras over the years says my setup rivals the best of his and he hates the stock feel....

yeah, sometimes it is hard to go to 3rd, but i think thats a problem that 05-07 mustangs have regardless if they have an aftermarket shifter or not (somebody please correct me if im wrong)
