Like I said earlier, most of you don't know what you're talking about. You really have no clue what the MKIV Supra's really are and what they're capable of.

I know exactly what it is and what it can do.  My friend had one that was so powerful that when he put it on the dyno in Hennesy's shop, all their mechanics put their tools down and went over to watch in amazement.  It was fast as hell if it was able to impress guys who spent all day working on 500+ hp vipers.  (note that later that night a 1992 intercooled foxbody raced it and left the little ricer like it was standing still ) but the supra was still really fast.

Bottom line, we know what it is and what it can do,but that doesn't mean I'd ever want to own one.  At the end of the day it's still a Toyota, and that's just not something I'd be willing to own.

Excellent point, and as someone above said, "you don't own a classic mustang for it's performance", you own it because it's the kind of car that stands for something great.

its funny...everyone else in my family drives a toyota and they all say that they will never buy an american car (because they break down too much).  i actually used to have the same additude towards american cars when i was a kid and then i grew a brain.  true story

Great. That's just great.

You want to be another one of those guys who comes up to me while I'm fueling up and gives me that 10 minute walk down memory lane about the totally awesome Mustang he USED to have and wish he'd never sold...wished he'd kept...wished he'd fixed up...wished he could still drive the hell out of...And claims to miss EVERY DAY OF HIS LIFE SINCE HE SOLD IT...

Besides, isn't it ultimately cheaper to just keep the car you have and fix it the way you want it? Getting another car means inheriting someone elses problems. (Look at my sig...I should know a little about inheriting other people's problems!) Haven't you already done that with the car you have...except ironed out your car into what you want it to be? Why stop now? That's the best part about Mustangs, you can take the car in sooooooooo many different directions. It could be a different car every year--every month even--if you want it to be.

My opinion might be biased. I'll never have a Mustang-that-I-sold-and-still-miss story because my car is my car and always will be. I knew a good thing when I saw it, so I held on to her.

Here let me say this from one college kid classic Mustang owner to another.  Are you ever around those FandF wannabes and listen to them talk about the money they pour into their cars to make them do what our cars do when they are stock?  How about when you hear them obnoxiously accelerate from the lights trying to impress everyone and all they do is make a lot of noise?  Does it ever bug you when the other college kids googly eye those 'all show no go' cars because they are new and have a body kit?
Now think about your American Muscle vehicle that only appriciates in personal and money value.  Think about stomping those annoying rice burners when they pull up to you at the light.  Think about crusing in your car.  Have I said enough or need I go on.

Not the same AT ALL.  IMO, Supra>Maserati.  Maseratis proably prone to break more when compared to the Japanese Supra, parts are more exspensive, not as cool looking, less fun to drive, it's a V6, not an inline...

I didn't say they were the same, but thanks for your opinion.

Ok ok ok... First off I don't want to be a FandF kid!    I hate ricers. However, Supras are awesome cars, and can be made to look good, and are  legitimately fast as they look. However, Toolwench did bring up a good point. I've never had anyone come up to me and be like, "Dang I'm glad I sold my old Mustang..." no, its always them telling me to hold onto that thing for dear life!

I love how you basically said you aern't gonna sell it and people are still talking you out of it.  But seriously, you have a 408....why would you need a TT?
