put twin turbos on that 408, that way you have the best of both worlds, not to mention far more hp and torque than that supra is capable of.  Don't forget the availability and inexpensive nature of mustang parts when compared to jap cars.

meh, there was a time that my 1990 5.0 was worth 4x as much as my 1965 mustang, and now it's the other way around.  Every year classic mustangs get more rare and more cool.  Meanwhile, every year newer cars (like twin turbo ricers) get older, less current and less cool.   In other words, his old stang is an appreciating asset where as the supra is a depreciating asset.  A day will come when that supra is old nearly ready for a salvage yard, and then he'll see an old mustang.  At that sad point, he'll kick himself for not holding on to his.

He has a '67 coupe. They're not rare, at all. It's not like 10 years from now he's not going to be able to find one. They stopped making Supra's in the US in 1998. They're not depreciating unless it's ragged out and has very high miles. If you can find a stock low mileage TT Supra, you will most likely be paying more for it right now then what it cost when it was brand new.

Like I said earlier, most of you don't know what you're talking about. You really have no clue what the MKIV Supra's really are and what they're capable of.

That is a good point, Fast65.  I think some of you are looking at this with the wrong mindset though.  It seems like you guys are comparing a Twin Turbo Supra to every run-of-the-mill Civic owner with a Folgers exhaust.  You know that huge exhaust?  Those are  actually utilized on the Supras.  Why?  Because they actually put down power.  The Supra is nearly the Ferrari of Imports, just behind the Nissan Skyline.  Supras are actually worth money, they can withstand 1,000 horsepower with ease, and actually look pretty good imo.  And it's FR.  But who knows, perhaps I am just backing it because I drive an automatic inlike 6 . . .

And yea,the AE86 is basically the car that made drifting famous.  Also known as the Toyota Trueno, it is a low horsewpoer, lightweight ,rwd car made famous by the comic Initial D.   It is so popular because it is an inexspensive car, yet ideal for drifting.  People don't needmlots of power to drift...

First of all don't do it.

Secondly I have a V6 twin turbo Masarati I will sell you for 2k.  Engine, turbos & 5spd r solid.  That way you keep , as Soaring refers to as "the sexiest car in the world" , and you can get ur twin turbo fix.

Not the same AT ALL.  IMO, Supra>Maserati.  Maseratis proably prone to break more when compared to the Japanese Supra, parts are more exspensive, not as cool looking, less fun to drive, it's a V6, not an inline...

BlackLX does kinda have a good point. The 2JZ inline-6 is one of the greatest motors ever made in my opinion. And Supras don't depreciate like most imports and newer cars. That 2JZ can be made to do incredible things and it really is a nice car. Trust me, I wouldn't consider dumping my Stang for your run of the mill ricer. I hate imports. And if there was a twin turbo kit or any such way of getting a twin turbo kit without fabing my own I would.

But you can o_0

Just buy Foxbody exhasust manifolds, turbos, figure out the piping you need, and buy a forced induction cap for your carb....  Except for pipe bends and exhaust manifolds, most all turbo/s.c. kits are universal...

Oh, didn't notice the "fabbing my own" part . .. .

Well, if you buy the parts and take a trip up to NorCal I'll fabricate and install everything for free, as long as you let me test drive it. . . Dead serious.

Haha, I think the twin-turbo setup might be something to try during the summer.

simple.. vortec carb box, turbos, tubeing, wastegate and blow off valve, and a fuel pressure regunaltor the increases fuel pressure with boost.. its not really that complicated.. and if your lucky you can get an intercooler behind the front valence....

and then just take 350kmileFord up on his offer... youll be set

i dono, maybe its just me...but i wouldnt notice a supra if i saw one on the freeway or something....if i saw like a ferrari or some classic car or something...id notice it....to me all asian cars look somewhat similar...all sort of boring looking...not very tough looking to say the least....

obviously you love the supra...and if you think its going to be more valuable and make you happier than your mustang then go for it.....if its just a matter of "wow i have a supra and i can go faster than my mustang could and my engine could potentially handle 1000hp" then you might wanna think a little longer about it...its obvious people dont love old mustangs because of their sheer performance...its because of the vibes they give off and the way they make people feel.

haha thats not what i meant but funny.  i meant that alot of supra's dyno at like 1000horses or more.  but they cant get all that power to the wheels fast enough and their 1/4 mile times are slow
