Default Limited edition "Pink Package"

OH PLEASE!

I'm not bashing breast cancer. I understand it is a MAJOR disease that affects MANY women (and men!) in this world. I am 100% for breast cancer reasearch (well, any cancer research in general) and I feel that companies donating money to breast cancer research is great!

But.. a Ford mustang "pink" edition?

No offense, but is it me, or is Ford REALLY whoring their mustang out to any/all reasons to make a quick buck. Saleen, roush, shelby, hertz shelby gt-h, the "heat" edition, California special edition. etc etc...

but now.. the "pink" edition? Has Ford gone too far?

Are they really "racing for the cure" - or just making money off of a major disease?

They're donating $250 for each pink edition mustang sold.. but since they're limited edition, there's gonna be a markup of atleast $500... so who is really making money here?

DETAILS:

Now, the limited edition 2008 V-6 Mustang with Warriors in Pink Package is adding more muscle than ever to the fight.
In celebration of Komen’s 25th Anniversary, $250 from the sale of each package will go directly to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
The Warriors in Pink Package highlights include:
[ul]Available in black, white or silver models
Coupe or convertible
Pink rocker tape striping
Pink stitching on black GT seats
Pink stitching on leather-wrapped steering wheel
Mustang pony badging over pink breast cancer awareness ribbon [/ul][/align]

"There all pink in the middle" Wait nevermind differant topic all together. Yea I agree pink on a Mustang regardless of what the cause is never a good idea.Your better off buying a regular Mustang andthen making a donation for the cause.

From a female stanger's perspective....................I have absolutely no problem seeing a pink mustang put into production because it is for an EXTREMELY great cause, HOWEVER, I certainly dont buy the factonly $250 for each sale. But consider this, with all the US car manufacturers experiencing the financial pinch because of the economy, war, etc......you have to commend them for putting any amount of money toward the cause. So there is certainly a "catch 22" here but in the end, Ford appears to have the best intentions in mind!!!

Oh and BTW, for the record, I lost my sister-in-law (my best friend) to breast cancer at the young age of 42 so this topic does hit home hard for me.

Lost my wife of 15 years to breast cancer at the age of 34. While you may feel this isn't a good idea, please keep in mind others and use some sensativity when talking about the subject. Breast cancer kills good people every year, I applaud any person or company that is willing to put monies towards finding a cure.

Not to bust your chops jettaflavor, I just wanted you to understand a different perspective. Some times we dont always see the bigger picture, ya know what I mean?

And, to anyone that has lost a loved one or friend to breast cancer, my heart goes out to you!
