Hey fellas. New guy 350Z owner here. Call me rice boy if you wish (though I have NO stickers hehe), I am not here to start smack. I was browsing through here and fbody forums recently to get an idea of what y'all thought of the 350Z, and well, most people really don't know.

Some people thought it was slower than an RX8, some thought it was LS1 material.

Well, its not a dragster, but its certainly quick for a NA V6. Its direct competition (and then some) for a Mustang GT. As a show of what the 350Z can do, I took it to the track. I have NEVER been to the track before, so keep in mind I am not an experienced driver, and I think this is not a best case scenario.

The car weighed in at 3475 pounds with a fatso 220 pound driver (me), all the carpets and spare, etc. I did air the rear tires to 26psi. The car is an Enthusiast trip 6 speed manual with a limited slip in the rear. Ambient temps were about 55F.

My first run beat my goal of 14 seconds, and my second run was my best run of 13.933 @ 100.76.

Now, There was a souped up GT out there with slicks who spanked me with a 13.2 and an older Fox-Body who was running in the 9s!!! but, obviously, they were not V6s, and not stock, but props to them for great times! I was dissapointed to not see any 05GTs, as I want to see what times they can run, and I wanted to see an 03 04 stock GT run as well.

Soon, hopefully, I will be running some mods, and my goal is to hit 12.9s NA. Also, bear in mind the Z is not designed to be a drag car, but can do fairly well considering.

Hopefully this might clear up how fast the 350Z is for some of you (at least stock).

Thanks! I had a grin the entire night... thats pretty addicting, but at the same time, you REALLY dont want to brake anything!

I told the tech guy I really wanted drags now, and he looked at me and laughed. He said, son thats the quickest way to brake stuff on your new car.

My friends with slicks all agreed, and then went through the list of gears and shafts that they had to replace hehe. Launching is a PAIN.

Theres a pretty sick black 350Z that comes to our meets in Austin. It's black with a body kit and HUGE Brembos. It's not rice looking at all. I am not a fan of the wide fender look, but this car is done very nice.

The 350Z is one of my favorite new cars. They look good and can almost hang with LS1's.
Almost.

nice run, that's about what we know, the 350Z runs 13.9's stock just like the 99-04 GTs, it's a driver's race between the two typically. 350's are nice cars for what they are

I love the widebody kit on the Z. Very turbo Porsche... but I am not going to cut my car no way no how!

Beautiful Roadster you have there!

My next goal will be to get into the 12s NA... its been done before at this track with $2k in mods, lets see if I can do it too!
