I think it will be far better sounding, I also think it will be louder...

P- a 10" L5 or a 13O? Really?

I do! I will let you know how it works out here in about 2 months when they start shipping out.

I personally think the L5 could be slightly louder if it is installed like kicker wants it. (large ported enclosure). If joey has just thrown a prefab in, the 13O would destroy rhe L5 in terms of SQ and SPL.

I had the box built to specifications in the manual.  My trunk is so small though that the guy who built it had to wrap the port.  So the sub sits on the right, with a port running along the back to the front of the box, like the directions said.  I think it sounds real good but  i am a novice and have a lot of rattle from the panel that blocks all the convertible components

Honestly an L5 will sound ok at best. The new kicker stuff is made to be loud not sound good. I would put the 13O against that sub any day in terms of overall sq and spl.

P, can you give me some insight into dimensions for my box for a 13Ov.2?  Thanks!

Just my 2 cents...
I got the 13Ov.3 (color is black instead of silver) and have asked the same questions.  I talked to P and gang on here and talked to eD.  The consensus for that sub is a 1ft^3 box sealed for that sub.  eD has a template square box with all the dimensions on their site:
http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/product_info.php?cPath=38&products_id=60

And a nifty tool to size one out on your own:
http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/boxbuilder.php?tab=sealed

I'm sure more can be added but I just went through all of this myself and got a lot of good info from P and gang.

I would like to go with a slant box for my trunk.  Will this effect the sound quality at all?  The way my trunk is built with the vert it would free up some space and fit better with a slant box.

You don't want a perfect square box, but a slanted front shoudl have no impact on SQ.
