Default Vert Boot Required?

Hello, all...

I read an article (can't remember where!) that said you must install the convertible soft boot whenever driving with the top down in the 2005-07 Mustangs. Is this true? I can't find anywhere in the manual that states this, and isn't the boot an extra option? You'd think if it was required they'd make it a standard feature of the car!

Anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance!

no problem with the 99-04 verts, wouldn't think there'd be any problem with the new ones either.

I never use mine..

What could the consequence possibly be even if it was required & you didn't use it?

Same here, Mine is a little older, but I never put one on, it takes to much time and just isn't worth it to me. To my knowledge they aresimply for looks.

ya it just makes it look nice. but the thing is i hardly ever leave my car with the top down so its just stupid for me to have it on (got it with the car from previous owner).
i guess it could help make it more aerodynamic, but hardly

If the sell it as an option, can't possibly be a must.

Never used one on this or my previous 99 GT.

I like the looks of them on the older stangs. They are a pain to snap on, but the underside of the older tops are not that great so the boot hides it when down.

I just don't want to see the top till it's replaced that's why my boot is on. It was difficult getting it on with two people.

its a pain to put on and doesnt fit for ****, if mine was about and inch shorter it would fit perfect but instead its has 2 creases in it, and the little flap that goes n the middle wont stay down
