Actually the rwhp are more like 145-150 for an auto and about 155-160 for a 5-speed. The main reason the Ford V6 numbers are so low, is because Ford from the factory chooses it to be that way. With a 265 hp V8, it would be complete unwise for the V6 to have 210-220 hp. The what would be the point of buying a GT for a measly 45 hp. Even the GM 3.8 has 200 hp. I personally think the V6 is overlooked as a probable performance engine. it will never have the power capabiliies of the V8, but the V6 does have lots of potential. Currently lacking two cylinders, my V6 puts out about 255-260hp and about 310-315tq. I think that's pretty impressive for a N/A V6.
i must say i respect your car the most, just b/c i envy you and will never get those #'s out of mine
its not that hard to get those numbers but most people dont care enough to try! some p+p heads and intakes(split port swap of course) a cam, cai, udp, lt headers, high flow cats, good catback, and you will have no prob beating those numbers!!!!
