well i know everybody hates these posts, but i have this fool that thinks he can beat my stang (5speed) in his mazda 3(5 speed). his car is completely stock and the only performance mods i have on my car is a true dual exhaust and if you consider a short throw shifter a performance mod. im pretty sure i can beat him but if he happened to beat me i would hate to have to say i lost to his car. any ideas what the outcome can be figured id ask here being i dont really know too much about them

What ever happened to racing to find out who will win? You guys have to ask first if you can win then if everyone says you should then you grow some balls and race? Just race the guy and find out but do it at a track so you don't kill anyone else and remember, it's no big deal if you lose.

It will be a close race. Either way your car will still look and sound better than his.

i beat a 5 speed mazda 3 down in texas about 7 months ago... i walked him the whole way up to 115...then he kept going and caught me
there was about a cars length gap between my back bumper and his front, and i only had CAI at the time with crappy tires, you should be alright

I looked it up and a Mazda 3 is supposed to be good for a low 16, so if you can drive, I'd say you can take him.

My wife drives a Mazda 3s and while it is a nice car and pretty zippy for a 4 banger its still a 4 banger.  I'm guessing you're a V6, if so the 3s will be close the 3i not so much.  If its the Mazdaspeed 3 you are dead meat.

better hope it isnt a mazdaspeed3 they have 260 hp and 280 ft/lbs of torque. if it is just a regular mazda 3 it will be a relatively close race. just go race him and if you lose you lose who cares.

so you have  a V6 stang? Whoever is the better driver will win this race

If its a MazdaSpeed3 you might as well pack up and go home bc those things are rockets

I just beat a Mazdaspeed 3 from a 30ish roll in my IS300.  Check out the thread I just bumped for the story.  They're definitely quick, but supposedly their throttle is limited in 1st and 2nd gear so they are at an extreme disadvantage from a slow roll.

Just to be the oddman out, I'll say the Mazda has you on this one, sence you are so nervous about racing him.  Take a chill pill (ya, i just said chill pill) and race him.
