All 05-07 S281SC's equiped with 5-speeds came with the 3.55 gears standard.  The 3.73 was optional beginning in 2007.  I believe the automatics (at least in 05) came with 3.31 final gear ratios. The 2005 non supercharged cars came with 3.31 gears, and the 06-07 ones came with 3.73 as standard.

What about the 99-04 SC281's? Did those also come with 3.55 gears? I ask because I'm thinking about switching to 3.73 gears.

Just a small correction the above statement.
I think all 5spd '05 NA Saleens came with the 3.55 ratio.
I had some 3.73 in a '96 supercharged cobra and that was a good set up.  If my '05 would have come with any gear lower than the 3.55, then I would of swapped to the 3.73.
Has anyone swapped from the 3.55 to the 3.73 in the NA Saleen?  Was it a noticable difference?
