There are several types of acetone, Industrial , is used in making large amounts of chemicals, and as a feed stock. Humans make it when they are starving. As a fuel additive it would probably be ok, but , and that is a Big Butt, what it would do to the seals on the fuel injectors or the fuel pump or the fuel line that is not steel, is a guess. Maybe any car than can run E85 would be safe for acetone, but I wouldn't use it on older vehicles. acetone, is an oxidizer, meaning it carries it's own oxygen, Like Nitro methane or Nitrous. The chemical formula C3H6O means it will burn very rapidly, the "O" will help. If your going to try this, don't use to much, What you are really doing is increasing HP and by doing this use less gas peddle and less gas. Your engine still needs the right air/fuel ratio to run,
