Okay so I went to the gas station, poured in 3oz of Acetone and topped off the tank, roughly 13 gallons since there was still a little in there. I've driven a whopping 8 miles since, but no driveability issues so far lol.
i put in the 3oz of acetone and i drove a few miles.. and the engine seized!!
jk no problems here either and i've racked up about 70 miles. not even gonna guess at the gas mileage as inaccurate as my gas gauge is lol. i think i'll wait till i'm on empty and then fill up so i know exactly how much was used and then be able to figure out what my actual mpg was.

Update: 88 miles driven so far and I still have 1.5 quarter tank left, which normally yields 90 miles. Assuming it now yields 110 miles, that will put the total of miles traveled per 7 gallons of gas at: 198. That = 28.28 MPG haha a lot better than my 18-19.
Next time I'll fill up with 10 gallons and take pictures of the dash twice a day, as a log, for you guys. It'll be somewhat of a documentary on the acetone as a fuel additive myth.
driving styles are still going to affect mileage differently, and i wouldnt trust that 28 mpg claim. i may add some of my brothers acetone to the tacoma just to see if i get better mileage on the way home at the end of this week.
for those that dont know, hardware stores sell like gallon jugs of acetone but its those metal cans with lids that are really easy to put on wrong

If (and it is) my driving style, after adding acetone, is consistent with times prior then how could my "claim" not be trusted?
I don't think they mean power as in horsepower put in "power" as in what you feel. Just like the gas pedal mod, my car felt like a whole new beast after I did that.
With the acetone it should run better and more efficently and therefore increase performance a little bit.
i make no guarantees about gains in mileage from acetone, however ive got some comments.
1. my brothers suburban which failed the tailpipe emissions test a year before passed this year with flying colors using acetone (wayyyyy better numbers than my mustang). if you've got a car that might not pass smog, try it, you'll be surprised. 2. a gallon has 128 oz. 1-3 oz of acetone per 1280 oz of gas is not going to harm anything. 3. it would be wise to put acetone in before pumping gas so you mix it up well
look into xylene also, some people use it. it's really all trial and error and you'll need to have consistent conditions to be sure that you had gains strictly from the acetone unless the numbers are just that much better.
Well, that makes sense considering Acetone as described, breaks the surface tension of gas making it easier to atomize thus getting better combustion.

I've put about 80+ miles since my acetone treatment, and I've noticed my car sounds slightly different. I've also been drunk as a skunk since about 5 hours after I did it and I'm still hung over, so that may play a part in it. I haven't noticed a difference on the needle yet, but I don't trust the needle anyway, so hopefully in 300 miles I'll know, otherwise it'll be another 240 lol
It's worth the $6 for the 32oz acetone just to try it.
great site, man i had to buy a whole gallon and sherwin williams for 16 bux, arrhrhrh!
i have about 55 miles on my tank but i didnt fill up so i dont really have a good mpg estimate but i will be goin to the beach this w/e and it will be straight highway so ill do it again then and see if i can tell a difference, i normally get about 340 miles to a tank on the highway

So did this actually work? Are any of you guys gaining any REAL WORLD milage gains?
BTW, dont get gas on the 15th this tuesday. Its a formal refusal to buy gas. Its been in news, news papers, radio shows, blocks, myspace, youtube and everywhere. Its a protest in the high cost of fuel prices.
Just 1 day of no one buying gas will cost the oil companies billions, yup I said it, billions... This was done back in the 70's and they cut gas prices so far back because of that one day. Some people are saying that if we do this that oil companies may lower the gas price down as low as $1.50/gal
So remember this Tues DO NOT GET GAS!!!
Unless you want to keep putting that stuff in your gas trying to get better fuel economy :)
okay i went 285 miles with acetone mixed in with my gas and i got 26 mpg. 200 miles was strictly highway and 85 was stop and go, back and forth, so not bad. i def have not drivability issues, i will def continue to add the acetone
It actually worked for me. I used to average 18 MPG CITY/HWY and now I'm at 26-28MPG. The car feels really light on its feet (wheels) causing it to accelerate rather easily. The other day I was cruising at 80 and punched it and in no time the needle was burried at 120.
