ok so the fingernail polish made the injector seal swell up to about 2 times the size it was to start with... but i looked at the ingredients in the nail polish remover i used...and it was non-acetone... so idk ....would it be worse with acetone?

ok so how exactly dous the dry ice work cuz i got dent from carts and i need them gone.
It causes the metal to shrink and expand when you change the temp drastically. it actually works best if you heat up the offending area with a blow dryer on high heat for a minute. then immediately place the dry ice around the area, and then onto the dent itself.

well i have about 1.3 oz of acetone in my gas right now, i put like 7 gallons in today, it seems to run fine, not sure about the mileage yet tho
I did the same thing yesterday haha. I went to Sally Beauty Supply store and bought a 16oz bottle of pure acetone.
Ok so this was my procedure and my results so far:
I was just about on empty so I went to the gas station and pumped $15 bucks of gas at 2.90/gal // drove to my grandma's house about 1 mile away and let my car sit idle for about 2 1/2 hours. When I turned it on it was making a weird noise (like water drops falling in a tin bucket 1 by 1 and would increase in frequency as throttle increased) I figured I had put too much acetone for only $15 of gas so I drove to the gas station and pumped $5 more. When I turned my car back on it started up like it normally would.
I noticed where my gas needle was before pumping the extra $5 so that i would know how much mileage it would give me, with just $5 (@ 3.00/gal = 1.66 gal) So I drove to my gf house and back and now this morning to work and the needle is finally where it was before pumping the $5. My trip meter reads 48 miles LOL - So far it's been 28 miles per gallon! (@ 48/1.66)

Wow thats crazy, if this really works and doesn't harm any thing why doesn't every one do it? You would think it would be on the news or some thing so people knew about it. I'll still wait till I try it just to see other peoples results too.

thats a very inacurate way to get mpg. you need to fill up the tank completely and put the acetone in then drive it like normal and the next time you fill up record how many gallons you put in. then divide that by how many miles you went since the first fill up.
What difference would half a tank vs. a full tank render? The MPG average will be the same throughout. Prior to the experiment my car would average 17-19 MPG -- thus far with acetone it's averaging 28 MPG.

that has nothing to do with it. you dont have to use a whole tank to do what i said. its using math instead of your eye. going by where the needle is is not acurate at all.

Ok, my gas light finally came on, so now I can perform this test properly
I have 2 tools: 1. 32oz pure acetone, obtained from Lowe's for a whopping $6. 2. A nitro r/c car fuel filler bottle. I happened to have a few lying around since I hace 3 nitro cars all on different fuels. It looks like this: It's about 6" tall not including the metal neck, which makes it really eassy to put in the tank while at the pump.
Now get your refill bottle and a measuring cup. Using the measuring cup, pour water into the bottle 1oz at a time. Mark the bottle with a "fine tip" sharpie at every oz. Go ahead and mark the bottle up to about 3/4 full, this way you can measure out once and get several fillups without having to be all tedious for measurement over and over agian.
After the bottle is marked, pour out all the water and go ahead and fill with acetone. If you're not familiar with these little bottles, then only put in 2oz for a 10gal fill up. You have to squeeze the bottle for the acetone to come out, and there's not getting that stuff back if you oversqueeze, and then damage may occur.
Now take your 2oz of acetone in your refill bottle and go put 10 gallons of gas in your car for 33 friggin bucks! Put the acetone in BEFORE YOU PUMP so that it mixes properly, then pump your 10 gallons of gas.
Now if you crank your car up and hear any strange sounds, and you followed all these steps properly, go ahead and add 5 more gallons of fuel. If it sounds fine then reduce the amount of acetone you use by 1/2 - 1oz. per 10 gallons of fuel.
Now with everything working properly, drive your car normally, not normally for you, normally for a regular person, and then calculate your mileage.
I hope I explained it well enough, I'm eating and waiting to go do a fill-up.

yea the needle is very innaccurate to follow. i was on E yesterday so i put in a full tank at $3.39 a gallon! cost me $47 to fill up i added about 3 ounces of acetone to the tank so we'll see if i get any increase by the time i hit E again. Normally i get around 230 miles by the time i hit the E marking. and at that point i usually still have about 1.5 gallons left. It claims like 35% increase in gas mileage but ill be surprised if i see a 20% increase which is 276 miles. I should get 310 miles however if it works as is claimed.

Yea, I think my fuel needle is broken or some thing because when I shut my car off and look at it and see its just under full, next time i start up it shows i loss a quarter tank.... It moves kinda weird like that is that normal?
