Default I SWEAR SYNTHETIC OIL CAUSE PROBLEMS

OK two cars now ive done, last night i did a friends 97 vw golf with 95k on it, ran ****ee and started making bearing noises, smoked and everything, harder to start, dumped the synthetic this morning car runs great. my gt has same crap in it and now its starting hard so im going to wal mart to get a new motor craft filter and 5 qrts of 10w30 and im dumpn that garbage out! it might be good but only on brand new motors.cus if theres alot crap in the motor to loosen up its gunna go places and mess stuff up possibly.
please if you have never ran synthetic in your car dont do it without doing some research first, also her car started leaking a lil, i cleaned the pan an it had fresh oil on it. mine hasnt leaked that i can tell. anyways i thoght i would post this since everyone raves about how good mobil 1 is and thats why i tried it, and ithink its a bad idea to use on a older car period, brand new car yes i would use it cus i can tell it cleans good. it cleaned up my oil drain pans sludge just sitting in there 20 minutes all hot!! lol

you have no clue.....every oil have detergents in them to clean....the problem with your girl's car is it wore out
as for the leak the oil didn't cause it. it was already there and with using a slicker oil it show'd up more

I use the synthethic blend not full synthethic. With the full synthetic I experienced the leaks also. With the blendI had no leaks and less exhaust smoke than conventional oil.

Look the synthetic oil is just letting you know where your problem areas are now go out and buy some gaskets and seals. LOL

I switched to synthetic in my car too when I bought it, the inside of my engine is spotless.

Running regular oil builds sludge in the engine and will stop minor leaks from seals breaking down.Full sythetic(or sythetic blend if seal breakdown is large enough) will clean that sludge and open up the leaks again. Some engines can't handle full sythetic(I think because it's too slick or something) That is why so many people experience leaks when they run full sythetic. I would deff not run full sythetic on a 260K engine(or is that your 4cyl??). If you decide to run full sythetic, get ready to change just about every seal in your engine. Just my 2c
