I actually posted this on the 4.6 specific forum, so I'm sorry for the spam. I'm new to the forums.
I'm looking at buying a new 07 Mustang with the Roush 427R package. Drive off price I was quoted, using Deluxe GT as our base, was 49k. I live in the Bay Area, Ca. (forgot to mention that, sorry!)
Should I be able to do better? I don't want to offend the dealership, but yet don't want to get ripped off at the same time.
Last Mustang I owned was a 66 GT Fastback. Haven't been able to bring myself to buy another until now. I missed it too much and not just anything could take its place.
Thanks very much for your consideration.

That is a pretty good price. I know of people who are paying over $50K for them.
If you want more info, check out the Roush forum: www.fnsweet.com/forumsThey're pretty friendly and have a world of knowledge on the cars.

If you want to spend that much just get the Stage 3. You can get the 427R w/ all the Stage 3 options, but you'll pay more for the 427R nameplate. The good thing about the 427R is you can get it cheaper if you don't put all the bells and whistles on it ie. Brakes, Suspension, interior trim etc.
So let me get this straight.....you can buy a 427R without all the Stage 3 components. Get one of the meanest engine platforms Roush offers....but not get the entire "package" with it. If that's true......I'm goingto make likeRicky Bobby and pray to Baby Jesus that it isn't so...
The base 427-R is actually a stripped down Stage 3 with an off-road exhaust and some extra badging. You can add many of the components on as options, but the base car doesn't have the 14-inch brakes, Roush interior, rear fascia, short throw shifter, gauges, dash trim kit, or quarter window louvers.

That is correct. Same with the Black Jack. It was the same as the last body style w/ the 360R v. Stage 3. You could get the 360/380R without the suspension and brakes and side exhaust but same SC stage 3 motor and tune.
