Default Alloy wheels vs. Chrome wheels?

I am looking into getting rims right now and I wanted to know how much more will chrome rims weight down your car opposed to alloy rims? It's hard finding black alloy wheels and I was just wondering if it was definitely the best move to go with alloys to keep the car lighter.

Thanks.

Default RE: Alloy wheels vs. Chrome wheels?

Ya gotta get the weights of the wheels and tires before you buy, I have a post in the tire and wheel section on trying to find lightweight wheels and tires, my stock 18" wheels and tires weigh 54lbs each, that's way too much. The lighter the better. 17" will probably be lighter. If that's what it will take that's what i will do. Oh, by the way, lots of manufacturers claim their wheels are light weight, some of them are 29 lbs a peice!
