Guys/Gals.....I was merely asking about helping set a price on my Extreme. No ugly comments on the car itself which on the whole is a beautiful thing to look at and a heck of a street stomper. Just, not my cup of tea.
Will put it up for sale on the web and til it sells at a fair price, I'll still enjoy it while it shares the stable with the Viper and Jeep. As for driving it as much as I do, the only problem I've ever had was the loose clutch bolts we talked about several months ago.....tighten'em up and no more problem.

I, for one, to no offense at all to your original thread about determining a fair price for the car.  If you like your Jeep and Viper better, that's just a personal preference.

Regardless, good luck with the sale.  I will likely buy an E some day, but it will have to still be under warranty for me to take the plunge...

IMO about 8-12k less what you paid for it. Someone will pay what you want for it. Your kind of setting the market for a Used Saleen E S281, not many if any have put theres on the market yet as a second owner car. So set it high!

I think what Viper/Saleen says is true, we all value these cars in our own ways and while most of us do not have the means to have both a Viper and a Saleen he is fortunate in that he does and has made a decision on what he likes. I have personaly always loved the Viper especially the GTS in blue with white stripes please. I certainly respect his decision and his reasons why he wants to sell it .I think the majority of  folks on this site feel the same way. If the Corvette Z06  or the Viper could fit a 7 and a 4 year old child in the back and still look like they do I would probably have bought one of those last year. But at the end of the day the my 04 Saleen has what I need  just like Sowaxmens 05 has what he needs and Mills has what he needs etc..

Good luck with the sale Saleen/Viper and yes try to keep the price as high as you can  so  we can all share in that value.

By the way what are your thoughts on the Jeep SRT  as a Dailey Driver  and in Harsh New England Winters. I am thinking of picking up an 06 over a New Ford F150 FX4. Just curious.

Peace.

Viper.

I'm glad you started a new thread with a new title. I really didn't like where the other thread was going. You were just sharing your thoughts and it started to go sideways like I just responded to Adam in the original post.

I think it would have keep going in the worng direction if you had not started this thread.

Hum.....Jeep has been a loyal "friend" since 1994 and 300,000 miles. With the stroker 318ci (400ci now) making 395rwhp and set the track on fire at 12.3's in November, think I'll keep her. 4wd street ponders are hard to come by and this one is a rare bird.

As for the new Jeep SRT, wasn't impressed on the strip. They were running 14.4's there abouts...never saw one run in the 13's. And, with the very low stance, I'd hardly call it a 4x4 anymore. Hell, my Jeep has a 2" lift on it and taller tires and was still running faster. If you have a tough winter climate, I'd get a real 4wd vehicle (not even sure if the SRT is a 4x4???). Never looked under it to see if it had a transfer case......it may be a 4x2. Good luck on the search!

BYW.....I'll be listing the Saleen at about $56,000 and will see what happens. As I said, don't need to sell it and will not give it away but do expect some resistance due to the mileage and the 12-month warranty ending this month. It will be on performanceautosport.com.

I think that's a really good aggressive price. Most guys/gals with an extreme want mid 60's. Even with 10k miles on it I feel that's a good price. It will sell quickly. Good luck with it.

I agree, I think that is actually a fair price, the next owner may put 4-6K miles a year  or less on it,  then you average it out and your looking at say 7K a year or so over 2-3 years. I drove my 89 when I bought it in 91 pretty much from May1 to Oct 1 for 4 years put about 25k total miles on it then over the next 11 years I put a total of 20 K miles on it. I had a better job then and could afford a much better second  car. So the moral of the story is while the mileage is a little higher then your typical Saleen driver   puts on, the new owner will know how much he will drive it and it will average out I believe. Besides these things were built to be driven ....

Peace.

Even before I purchased my E car I was coming to Viper/Saleen1  for advice on the E and viper. Your opinions will always be held high since you were able to own both cars.
