Default 2000 Engine in 2002

The engine i have been building up is a 2000, i need to know what they changed halfway through. This engine was made in 99 so it is the early 2000 engine I already have the underdrive pulleys but they are for a 2002. Any and everything that they changed

2002 uses a different harmonic balancer than the 99-mid 01 engines. You will need to order a different UDP set or just the balancer depending on the brand.

Also, 2001 and up use an integraded Temp sensor on the CAI, the 99-00 have it seperate. Again, depending on the CAI manufacturer you may have to buy a new one. K&N for example simply have a hole you can plug/un-plug for the various years. Others are different part numbers which means you have to specifiy the exact year or type you have.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

IMRC's were added to the lower intake, little butterflys that open up at the high end and close up at low end to retain torque. the 99/00 does not have them so you dont gotta worry.

The coil pack is slightly different, but id say you can still just use the 01+ coil pack to hook it up to the harness.

The lower intake also had a different sensor for the temp i think. i was trying to find it on rpm's site but its down. It shows the exact difference between the lower and upper intakes from the F150 to the 2 mustang ones to the windstar. good article but its not available.

how do you take the spring off the throttle body? Along with the whole peice on the side. Also the best ways to get the dam screws out of the IAC

I just reused the stock throttle body on mine, no need to take off the spring. For the throttle linkage just pop the ball out of the little clips with a screw driver, and for the cruise control one just slide the white plastic clip up and itll pop right off.

I have everything apart, this engine isnt in the car. I just wanted to paint it because it looked like ****. I think you have to take out the 2 screws but that would just be a pain so i painted the spring too
