Stereo System Somehow Linked to the E-Brake???

Ok here's theproblem: the stockmach 460 stereo system in my car emits a low buzzing noise while driving. The strangething is that if theE-Brakeis on the noise dissapears. Also, if the stereo is on and you then turn on the engine the speakers make a very loud bang noise, like a gunshot. The only modification to the stock system is a cd player. Why are these things happening and how can I fix them?

No, I'm not running any underdrive pulleys, so that can't be it.

I have a very similiar problem. Actually identical. Play your stereo loud enough, you dont hear it!

And this happens once the radio is actually on and then you kick over the engine.

And my e-brake, the shortcable that runs to the bracket that then runs the cables to the rear wheels, on mine is broke. When I had the tranny swapped the shop I took it too "forgot" to replace it, and I haven't got the chance to get it back out there so they can fix it.

It sounds like you have some kind of grounding problem.
Check to see if all of the ground wires are connected, most likely one in the stereo is loose or broken.

what is your voltage like on the car at idle?

I've been meaning to check the wiring but I've been busy and haven't got around to it. I guess I'll just have to do it.

and you are helping alot here too....

Start the car and look at your voltage gauge? is it around the N-O of normal or around the A-L? If the voltage is low(alt maybe going bad) the stock amps run into problems. Doesn't it make that popping noise when you turn the key off? The popping is normal as from what I gather the stock system uses a 6 volt remote turn on rather then the usual 12v. I tried using resistors as some places recommended but I have never found anything to work. It doesn't hurt anything other then annoy the driver......
