Great job! The underside of your car looks highly polished and your son has a friendly smile.

One question. why the 5GT over the GTA exhaust that comes with the power pack? Is there any difference from your perspective?
The 5GT's are 49 state legal, guessing it's a CA dB issue. The GTA's are bit more mellow, but less drone than the 5GT (aka. Stingers). It's a bit confusing, especially when you throw in the GTQ's into the mix too. In order from the quietest to the loudest: GTQ, GTA, then the 5GT.

So how do you like your stingers????
Love um'! Coupled with my O/R-H... the sound is menacing.
3 seperate sounds clips in the linked video; stock, Stingers, and O/R-H. It's a pretty good comparison showing the differences between the 3.

Are they too loud?
Not for me! But, I do know of a couple people who couldn't handle the drone and replaced them for quieter mufflers. Definetely not for the faint of heart.
Bill move to SoFlo so we can be friends and do cool write-ups together while making our cars ever sicker. Actually, it looks like u already have a great sidekick! Bill have u got a write up on how to make ur father like cars more?

Just installed mine last night...that tip about loosening the mid-pipe clamp was great...made things REALLY easy. Didn't need a jack for any of it either. Having long arms is a plus in this situation =D
The sound is pretty sweet right now but I want louder! How long does it typically take to break in and get louder!? :) :) :)
Excellent. i plan on doing this in the next few weeks.

Well for me, I originally bought the 5GT ones, and I had them back off in one day! They were ridicously loud inside the car,( I have an auto which doesn't help) buzzing interior parts, after awhile, I felt like puking from the resonance(drone). They are way louder than the GTA's. I bought the GTA's and 9 months later, I'm glad I did. A little louder than stock, sounds great at WOT, and no resonance at all! ( I didn't stick to my guns...I rented a GT-H and decided the GTA's were for me, and then of course wanted to take it to the next level with the 5GT's, quickly un installed them , sold them, and got the GTA's like I should have in the first place!)
I thought jacking the car up by the differential was a bad idea? But that is what he seems to have done here?
I want to get a $200 craftsmen set of floor jack, jack stands (2), and creeper. But I'm unsure about how to use the floor jack to get the rear of the car up. The manual says that is a no-no.

I agree, you don''t want to use the rear diff to lift the vehicle.
I just got finished installing the Borla version of this exhaust and I didn''t need to lift the vehicle off the ground at all. I''m not a small guy either (6''3" over 200lbs).
I would highly recommend investing in a 13mm closed ratching wrench if you don''t own one. This tool will save a great deal of stress with the bolts above the stock mufflers. The pics were a great help; thanks TacoBill!!!
