Good shiz.
No he didn't asswipe, the ECOTEC was not in the Saturns until 01 they used the good ole tried and true 1.9L until the ecotec was introduced.
I did state the facts properly, my 1998 had the 1.9L and so did the 99 and 00 models.
2000Si your such a turd.
And Kandyman, I know it's ECOTEC, I own one, a missed keystoke, whoopee

yes stay away fom imports. i just dont get it people complain that jobs r going over seas but they dtive around in there honda. im not saying they're bad cars but if the import trend continues then all cars might be moved over seas. i do know that all the main over seas car makers r either owned or have a partnership one of the big three. my 2 cents i just rather my money go 2 american factory workers
Most imports are made in the US you know!Honda is Mazda is, its more expensive to make them overseas and have them transported here than just to build them here!
I was driven around Pocono raceway in the SS s/c before the June Race and I wasn't impressed at all. The car was like a tinny toy and had no balls.

its kinda funny that its 2.2l... when my 93 4 cylinder is 2.3 liters lol OWNEDDDD... could prolly smoke mine but still i thought that was funny
I wonder if it's engine is made in CHINA like some chevy engines.
LOL are they really??? wow i did not know that do you mean the parts are from china but are put together in the US or do you mean put together in china and the parts are from china?
cuz i know most cars have parts from another country even though it was put together in the US

The new 5 cyl. engine is made in China. it says right on engine Made In China. The engine in the Saturn Vue is a Honda engine. One of Pontiac cars is made by Toyota,Two of Chevy and Gm;s SUV's. are made by Isuzu and Geo, and it think Toyota makes one also. Now I own A 93 Cobra and I get a little bent when someone starts to mention a sample Chevy in the same sentence much less try and compare.

coming from a company that owns 20% fiat, 20% Suzuki, 20% Subaru, 42% Daewoo, 100% Saab Chev Pontiac Saturn Opel Hummer Caddy Buick and Olds: not to mention countless engine mod swaps with mitzub. and mazda. the cobalt can hardly be called a crappy tuner, I happen to own a 2007 ss supercharged. it feels like a hell of a lot more than 205hp, I can hit 195km/h in 3rd gear in 8 sec. and governs out at 260km/hr in 5th. (it actually compares closely to my 84 camaro pushing 355ci sb at 431hp 4sp auto)it tops out at 225km/hr and weighs 800lbs more wet). the stats also say that the 0-60 is 6.*sec...when if you step on it in 2nd its more like 4sec. I'll post 1/4mile times along with the camaro and my fatherinlaws 95 mustang when the castrol raceway opens in may 07

Actually, Those supercharged Ecotech engines are impressively stout from what I hear. I heard of guys getting as much as 1000hp out of them.
I bought one of these Cobalt SS Supercharged and they are not bad cars at all. I dont understand why there is so much hate. Chevy warranties them with GM parts. They are light cars weighing about 2,900 lbs, and the Ecotec motors in them arent bad at all. See Chevy made this car to appeal to the younger age group and it worked. GM will warranty a stage 2 supercharger belt and pulley upgrade that takes the car to 241 hp and 235 tq-ish. As well as intkaes, headers, and other parts. I have been reading up on the cars, and for 2005 and 2006, the Cobalt SS Supercharged was and is the fastest time attack car of all. It was the fastest overall car in all drivetrain classes. Yes, fwd, rwd, and awd. Also the Ecotec motor set a new land speed record for the fwd class cars at some speed of over 250mph. It is a good little car I live in Arizona and at the Southwest International Raceway, there was a factory stage 2 cobalt ss supercharged there with ingalls torque dampeners (to help with wheel hops) and that was it. He was lined up with a 2007 Shelby Cobra, and he ran faster. He ran something like a 14.4 QM while the Shelby suprisingly ran a 14.9 QM. I am not trying to flame on the saleen in any way, but there is always a faster car out there. Hell I got my butt kicked to 100 mph by some swapped crx with cheater slicks in my saleen. As an owner of a mustang and a cobalt, I seriously dont understand the hate involed, it's not like Chevy made this car to come after mustangs lol, they made it to compete and try to dominate in the sport compact class, which it is doing. Sure there are SRT-4's and Cobalts, Mustangs and all kinds of cars. Please do more thorough research and dont hate on things you are not knowledgeable to.
Sorry to post again, but I thought about it some more, and the whole 2007 Shelby Cobra and 1/4 time of 14.9 just blew my mind. I mean Saleen07 says;

and obviously doesn't know about the car or it's capabilties. It's a GT500 once again, not a cobra, and 14.9 is slower than most new v6ers run stock. I mean, damn.
Talk about not hating on things he is "not more knowledgeable to". (bad grammar skills as well)
Hmm, thank you for noting two of my grammar mistakes. And yea I was shocked at the 14.9 1/4 Mile time as well. he said he was running mid-high 14's and he had just got it about a month ago. He also said he ordered a new pullet from Ford for it. I dunno, Ill try and take some video of it the next time I am at the track.

I honestly have no problem with the Cobalt SS s/c. I only have a problem with the little turds who drive them around town like they're freakin Lambo's. I had a guy at a local meet talkin about all the stuff he was gonna do to his black SS s/c.......talkin about all the cars he's beat on the street. Said he hadn't lost to a new GT yet (as in, he beats everyone that he races).....so I asked him to run me. He refused..........and mind you this was before I showed him what was under my hood.
I guess in retrospect the hate ppl feel is more towards the "typical" owner of these kinds of cars..........usually young males who haven't owned anything with any significant torque yet. You give a kid a 200+hp car and they suddenly think they're SpeedRacer, but it's not the car's fault if the owner is a dick.
So in closing.......hate the moronic drivers......not the cars they drive. A Cobalt SS s/c would make a good replacement for my DD V6....if they wouldn't cost 22K+.
