IF your cool sharing the same motor that was put into a SATURN before into a chevy go for it entirley. Just try and take yourself seriously when you start the car everyday "They put it in a saturn first". My 5.0's rear end bolts make more torque then that thing. Oh and when you do make 1000 HP with your super charger, be ready for the 1000 HP Pushrods that are making that N/A (Big blocks of course) and dont gotta worry bout boost.
wtf? who cares whether or not it was put in a saturn first.
your rear end bolts make 200 ft lbs torque? really, wow... NOT.
Not everybody buys a car like a sport compact to get the absolute most power out of it. Ever think somebody just wants something with decent power that gets great gas mileage? Of course not, your first car is a gas hog.
Thanks for bringing this incredibly intelligent arguement to the thread.
the cobalt ss runs 6.4 0-60 and 14's on the 1/4...looks pretty sweet in black but looks like a little kids car compared to the mustang 05 mustangs...and u can get a new v6 for around the same price...with about the same performance
Car and driver had the Cobalt SS at 14.7 QM, but I have also seen a Cobalt SS vs. Neon SRT-4 somewhere, and they ran 14.1 or so a piece. Not bad IMO. I wouldnt mind something decent on gas and fun to drive as my daily and have the Stang as my nice weather toy. All around it just looks like a better piece than its competitors. If I were to buy one I would just have to remove the King Kong deck spoiler for a clean look.

ATTN NOOBS: In all import or non V8 threads 2000SI will argue with whoever says anything other than "I love 4 bangers" or "4 cyls can go just as fast as any V8 in the world." It's like the same thread over and over again. Everyone else is ignorant, ignorance is bliss, and I know its a Mustang Forum, but YOU came into a thread that was not about Mustangs and talked ****. Did I forget anything? Maybe we can just spare everyone the ramblings and get this out of the way up front. Amazing.
Damn Erik, why do you always gotta sneak in little petty bullcrap? Just let **** go for a change, you're never going to get rid of me, I'm going to be here giving you my opinions whether you like it or not so just accept the fact that I'm allowed to have my opinions just as much as you are.

Lol Yah it's true. I know I am
But we care too much about our own pride to care.
We would rather be kicked in the balls then taking a hit to our pride.
I actually am losing my zeal. (Chicks tend to do that). At least I am not as bad off as my friend. He gets squirrel punched by his chick 2-3 times a week.
Natural instinct, we can't lose our respect. Unless we do it ourselves by never shutting the hell up.
Nobody start pointing fingers. Unless it is at me, cause I am too tired to read more about the Cobalt.

alot of the guys on j-body.org are wanting to put either a turbo on the cobalt ss and scrap the supercharger, and others want to put a smaller pully on it.

This car also comes with a forged steel crank and 12 lbs of boost. Pulley it and you could probably get close to 300hp. I canat wait to see the rivalry between that and the SRT4.

What about the rest of the motor? If piston rods aren't forged it will still blow apart. Not to mention even the not so best known names in Car reviews say it is slower than the Saturn Ion and "will get spanked" by the SRT4.

this is very sad my friend. why would you rather own one of these over an import. have an open mind. you would buy an unproven car over a proven import. why not keep an open mind. dont buy the first year of a new vehicle...too many problems.
Not to pull out the sob story, but its people like you that will eventually cost me my job. Nobody gives a **** about buying american anymore.
I would rather drive that car than an import, simply because its not a import. I don't plan on getting one anyway though. As of now I only own (3) American V8 RWDs :)

by the way its ecotec...and they were using this engine (its derivatives anyway) over in europe first in vauxhauls and opels... and then i think it was in 97 they put them in the saturns and then in mid 02 into the cavys and sunfires.....
those cars are fast...i got raped by one of those supercharged cobalts. he was spraying a 50 shot too. he ran a 13.8 1/4 mile. i thought it was impressive for a ricer
