<FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=black size=2>hey, i just want to know what a modular engine means, Ikeep finding magazines saying the car comes with a </FONT></P>
<FONT face=Arial size=2>" modular engine ??? " any one know, all comments are welcomed, </FONT></P>
Overhead cam, maybe i need more understanding on engines, did engines in the 60's and 70's come with overhead cams, maybe i need to spend more time on mustangs and less on trying to get my god dam crx to work.
i've been told it also has something to do with how the crank is mounted that's unique over a normal engine design.<IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0">
Modular means that the same parts from different engines are the same, the 4.6,5.4,and the 6.8 V-10 are all part of the Ford modular engine family. The 6.8 is just a 5.4 with 2 more cylinders added, the rods, pistons, valve train, and front and rear of the block are the same. Also many parts from the 4.6 and the 5.4 are the same.
So jugador was wrong, don't answer if you dont know, idiot.
