Default racing quarter window install question

ok so i got the quarter windows out, now i have to get this adhesive off? any ideas?

my car came with the quarter window covers over the glass, well when i took those off it left black adhesive around the edge of the bodypanel opening. now if insert the Racing quarter windows u can see this adhesive

ive tried "oops" "3m adhesive remover" even used a heat gun to try an soften it up.. any suggestions?

Whatever you try, be sure to do a paint/finish check on in-conspicuous location BEFORE you try it on the window area.

I always keep a bottle of rubbing alcohol in the garage, works great.

thanks i will try the rubbing alcohol, someone suggested wd-40?

this whole procedure went so smoothly , gorilla taped inside/outside of window, spring loaded punch.. popd right out , heat gun to edges of glass that adhesive was holding.. little knife to cut away pieces ( i actually taped
towels to the sides of the car, all around my work area) now when i put the racing windows in u can see that small lip of adhesive that previously held on the other cover over the glass( sc coupes come with)
took about an hour.. then 4 hours of tryin to work this little bit of adhesive off (grrrrr) lol i gave up an went to bed..

If none of the above work.....may try some tar and bug remover.

Quick question what type of adhesive did you use to install the new quarter panels? Rob

Use adhesive cleaner to remove. Got mine at AutoZone. Use 3M Window-Weld urethane adhesive -AotoZone also.

i used 3m window weld adhesive.. as well as 3m adhesive cleaner.. the problem with mine compaird to slammer1 he didnt have the black covers over his glass to start with...

once i pulld those black covers off my glass. i had this rim of black adhesive around the body that was VERY noticable even with the new racing window placed there.. so it had to come out..

was WAY too much work for me HAHAHAHAHAH but its done an patience is a virtue LOL hahahaha

heres the pic i have video but.. NWS as i was bitchin about the adhesive removal ahhahahaha
