That car shouldn't even wear the "Charger" badge on it. The car is a cool four door muscle sedan, but calling it a "Charger" is just wrong let alone comparing it to a Mustang; a "Charger" has two doors!
it all comes down to if you have raced one... I went on the highway and saw a Daytona version of the charger (which i believe is the srt8 version just with daytona paint and decals...), well i decided to mess with the guy. i pass him going about 80 in a 55... the next thing i see in my mirror is the same charger following me... i floor it after making sure it wasnt a cop... he stays right with me like it was nothing... i get into the left lane and he pulls up to me and i see a cop ahead so i back off to the limit, and he does too (right next to me). he is a tall guy with a black shirt and glasses. he all of a sudden shows me a badge... i got so scared because the both of us probably reached 110 on the highway...!!! then he just pulled away from me................. i thought i was going to get a ticket in the mail or something... but those cars are fast, the regular chargers arent... but the srt-8 and the daytona... wow

I believe the Daytona is a R/T, and there's the yellow Super Bee, which is the SRT8.
ahh... wutever it is, im not going to run around town under estimating those things anymore...

What is the top speed of a stock GT? Anyone know?
149. Never had it up there, but did 140 the other night on a closed airport runway. Still had pedal left. It isn't lighted so no worries about aircraft.

If you turn the speed limiter off I think it will hit 156.

In my opinion, i like both cars, both they serve a different porpuse, mustangs are sport cars that we use to have fun and smoke some people, srt8 have the lexury, comfort and the power, and remember that it will take few bolt ons on a new gt to get a stock srt8, and more serious work to anl older stang 04 and down to match that power, i have a 04 bullit with 125 nos, cai, gears 5 spd, shifhter and drag radial, tune and my best time was 12.5 @ 116 mph at moroso motorsport, thats just sligth better than an srt8, also you can mod an srt8, not as good as an stang but you can get for about 4k or 5k more than 500hp to wheels n/a without having to forge internals, now try putting that power in a new gt and ill pick up the peices on the dyno cause it wont make it out of there. like i said great cars but can't deny srt8 are a great car and you are getting what you are paying for, if you cant affort it, doest mean that its not good.
So the point of this post was to promote the SRT-8's superiority, and to try and tell us that the new 3V 4.6 is crappier than the 99-04 2V 4.6?
Drag your glorified special edition GT down to my nick of the woods sometime and I'll show you how crappy my 3V's internals are.
