In my opinion, i like both cars, both they serve a different porpuse, mustangs are sport cars that we use to have fun and smoke some people, srt8 have the lexury, comfort and the power, and remember that it will take few bolt ons on a new gt to get a stock srt8, and more serious work to anl older stang 04 and down to match that power, i have a 04 bullit with 125 nos, cai, gears 5 spd, shifhter and drag radial, tuneand my best time was 12.5 @ 116 mph at moroso motorsport, thats just sligth better than an srt8, also you can mod an srt8, not as good as an stang but you can get for about 4k or 5k more than 500hp to wheels n/a without having to forge internals, now try putting that power in a new gt and ill pick up the peices on the dyno cause it wont make it out of there. like i said great cars but can't deny srt8 are a great car and you are getting what you are paying for, if you cant affort it, doest mean that its not good.

uhhh?! stock srt-8, 12.5 in the 1/4?? i dont think so! there have been three srt-8's at the track where i live and neither have gotten below a 13.4, and that one had a CAI...if u look at dodges website, it says they are mid 13 second cars and low 5 seconds cars 0-60...if i'm correct, thats just about dead even with stock s197's...these mustangs are very mod-happy...my car's stock for now, but my friends 05 has 4.10 gears, CAI+tune, UDP's, american racing LT's, and custom ported heads and he's running low 12's consistantly...sounds crazy, but believe me, that thing halls @$$

no, srt8 are low 13s high 12s depending in altitude ad track, but lets face it 4 soor car, stock over 4k pounds and in the 13s, come on, it wont serve a teen but it will serve pretty well a family guy and still give a good race to our mustangs if not beat us, put the zex nitrous systemm in that baby and u r well over 500hp

I just came back to ford from my Grand Prix GXP. It was a nice switch for 2 years to have a large 4 door sedan that was still fun to drive but I missed my beloved mustang. it is taking a lot of getting used to though. No HUD!!!!!!!!!!!
They are 2 different cars and have 2 different purposes. there is something cool abouta large 4 door thehauls,handles and stops well. srt-8's are expensive but sweet.
I hate when four doors are compared to coupes. I feel that both cars serve a very different purpose. Thats JMO but I wish the debate would end over "who would win" when there are many factors to consider other than the stats of the cars from the manufacturers.[sm=rant.gif] Thats it Thanks

Look at the comparison Daniel. Mustangs are faster in the 1/4 and in 0-60. go read any car and driver mag! or google it
Magazine racing FTL. But i was under the impression that even mags tested the SRT-8 faster in the quarter. For an extra 125 horses its not a huge difference but definately faster.
