Anyone here got their dealer to successfully retrain their TPMS on their 07 Mustang?
I can buy a brand new set of take-offs which have the Ford TPMS bands and sensors, tires balanced, etc. In the past I could have just swapped the wheels in my driveway, be done with it, and move on with my life, but not anymore..
With TPMS the sensors in the new wheels will not be recognized by my car, and I need to have my car's TPMS system retrained for the new sensors.
I called a few dealers in my area and they are clueless. They either have no idea what I'm talking about or want to reflash my PCM.
Has anyone successfully had their dealer do this? I have the instructions and it's simple, but I don't have the tool needed.
Will other shops like discount tire be able to retrain the car to use different Ford sensors?
yes, I work at discount tire and your local store should be able to fix this. They should have the tool I believe it is mandatory for all stores to have it however if you didn't purchase the wheels or tires through them they will probably charge you but it shouldn't be much.

why dont you just swap your sensors over to the new wheels. all you need to do is break 1 side of the bead, don't even have to rebalance.
Lol, that would be damn hard. Its hard to seat a tire that only has one bead broken down. Plus I think it will just be a pain in the ass doing it that way, even with the equipment.
