Hello all,

My 01 bullit has a slight clanking or rattling sound when I got over bumps and I have the windows down I notice it.  My car has 67000  miles on it.  So my question is....is it time to get new struts up front?  Could the rattle be from the brakes?  And also if I wanted to lower my car a little, say a quarter inch or so, what would be a good set up to go with??

Thanks,

Ryan

Rattling problems are borderline impossible to diagnose over the Internet... it could be body panels, struts, engine/trans mounts, endlinks (broken), control arm bushings, etc. I would jack up the car safely, or take it to a mechanic to diagnose that stuff...

Lowering your car 1/4 inch would not really make a visual difference, but it may make a performance difference if you go with a higher spring rate.  Take a look at our spring rate article http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/springratesarticle.asp  You can compare your stock Bullitt springs to other aftermarket springs to see how much of a performance upgrade you would want to go with.

A popular choice is the H&R Super Sport Springs, part # 51652-77  http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=146  Although it will lower your bullitt about 3/4 of an inch, not 1/4 of an inch.
