He said he ran a 13.6 @ 103 with a stock 5.0 with stock tires, stock engine, only pulleys and minor exhaust. Says its "driver, driver, driver"
Yeah that's total ****...I can't believe someone would say that...Best time i've ever seen for stock 5.0 was 14.7 and the poor fella blew the car up on the next run...
In totally stock form...it can't be done...Back in 93 i had my car dynoed and it only was putting down 185 rwhp...and it weighed 3250 i think that's what it was...So i don't by his story at all.

So I just read that thread he posted the link to...Where is all this proof? You got one guy that went 12's, and I'll bet you $100 it's a heads and cam car, and probably a trick flow intake manifold of some sort. Quit being dumb. You're talking about a car that runs 15's out of the box, and with 20 more HP, it's 2 seconds faster in the 1/4?

Listen, I intended to stay out of it... but your going to other forums and asking what their "fastest bolt on mustang with street tires was". Once again, please stick to the topic at hand. This isn't the "fastest all time ever bolt-on tournament" or whatever, this has to do with a stock 5.0 with "simple bolt-ons" in the 13's. I say it can be done with the addition of sticky tires and gears. You say you can run 13.6 @ 103 with nothing but pulleys and minor exhaust work on stock street tires.
My point? How about sticking to the topic at hand. Lets have a debate without arguing and name calling. You call me names and say I don't know anything, when you have yet to prove anybody wrong. You go to multiple other forums and say we're all idiots because we can't belive a "bolt-on" 5.0 can run 13's.Thats not true, your lying again. Nobody said a bolt-on 5.0 couldn't run 12's, only saying that it can't be done with just pulley's and a cat-back - like you claim ... and not only did you claim 13's - you jumped right out on a ledge and said, with only those two mods, you ran a 13.6 @ 103... well damn... a second and a half off the e.t. and 12 mph in the 1/4 is pretty damn good for 20 hp! Jeez.. I wonder what all those folks getting nitrous are thinkin... must be idiots because it takes them a 100 shot of nitrous to pickup 10mph and one second... maybe you should go school them too.
BTW - We've turned this into a debate as to whether or not YOUR car ran a 13.6 @ 103 with just pulley's and minor exhaust. And to that I call BS.

I just read his post in the other forum...now his mods include a 2500 converter, ignition box, Al driveshaft....which itsn't part of the criteria I originally layed out. I don't think they would still get him there but since when is a stall converter a "simple bolt on"

Has anyone else noticed that the kiddies claming 13's on a mild bolt-on 5.0's are secretely using slicks or radials...
Hey if he honestly believes it's possible...then let him believe it...LOL...It's very apparent to me that he's a youngster(FIRST CAR) and he want's to believe that his car can run those times.....I've checked everywhere to try and prove some claim to what he's boasting...but the quickest time i've ever seen for a stock GT or LX 5.0 are around 14.7-14.8 with absolutely "perfect conditions" and the driver was powershifting the hell out of...like i said earlier...he blew up the motor and he only trapped 96 mph.
It's definitely doable. Before Project Stocker as turned into a race car, it went 13.55 with a short belt, 3.55s and street radials-that's stock pulleys, stock throttle body, MAF, etc.
