Ok tire experts, why, when clicking away at TireRack.com, do some wheels show up fitting 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear and other wheels will fit 18x9.5 all around? Does it have to do with offset? thanks

It's probably a combination of offset and how far the manufacturers marketing folks are willing to push things...

It is a combination of a number of factors. Brake clearance is the most common. Offset, bolt pattern, and load capacity are some others. In the example you mentioned it is probably the offset.
