Default 4.0 HP?

I don't get it. If the manufacturers are saying a V6gets 210 HP, then that's what is should be....right? Or if you've got a 4.6 you should be getting 300 HP and not 207. So why aren't the ratings coinciding with what is actually happening?

It is not that Ford or any company is lying. Basically, the hp ratings that the companies give are based at the crank. There is always more hp at the engine. When you get your car dynoed it shows the actual hp rating at the wheel. The hp at the wheel is always less because there is often a lot of hp lost in the transfer from the crank to the wheel bc of restrictive airflow, unsprung weight, and many other things that hold back hp to the wheels.

did you mean 270 instead of 207 for the gt's? 270 should be about right if you're talking wheel hp. the 300 rating is at the motor, before drivetrain losses are taken into account. a 210 hp v6 should have about 185 at the wheels.

Yep, like they said.
If your friends, who know nothing about cars, asks about your HP you should probaly add ~12% to your dyno to get the crank HP else your friends will be confused.

I came in with 163rwhp bone dry on my first dyno, and now with mild mods Im up to 195rwhp. So all the work and mods that I've got done, got me 32 more ponies closer to my ture 210hp. Im hoping for 15 more hp with the long tube headers, only if I could pass inspection. Or shorty and a UDP, plus a tq converter.

I don't know.....according to this link it says the 2007 GT only has 207 hp. Could be a typo;

look again, it says the 6 cylinder is 207. Up above it says the V8 is 300 and the V6 is 210 HP.

Hoping for 15 over with only long tubes will be hard, evern with shorties and UDP as they both have shown minimal gains on the dyno. The TQ converter will help but I don't know if it adds actual HP more power to the wheels but just better crisper shifts. GOOD LUCK THOU!
