not sure if anyone cares about my opinion or not, but i'll toss it in here neways lol

the SRT-4 is a quick car. Its just about as fast as our GTs. I've never personally raced one, just have seen the numbers from the track. I dont think you can deny the numbers, those are just cold hard facts.

Isn't it faster than a stock 99-04 GT?
Coulda sworn the 04 SRT4's had something different to em...
Maybe theyre axle or something to do with traction

i think on average i've seen the GT beat the srt-4s on the street. I've never been to the track, but my friends tell me that they've only seen a couple srt-4s and that they run running around a 14.2-14.5. Which is around what i see for GTs over here. I've HEARD of 13 second srt-4s, i've never personally been to the track to see it, nor have my friends told me about them so i dunno.

04 SRT4s got an LSD and an updated power output rating, 230 instead of 215, over the older models.. They still dyno around 245 or so to the wheels though.

245?
Ouch...
Don't the 04's dyno around 230 to the wheels?
And I'm sure the SRT4 is lighter as well.

Nice vids. he keeps up well with that Z06, and a nicely modded one at that. I love the song on the second video "It's On!" from follow the leader. I didn't see any times, what did he run on that trip to the track?

I believe this guys is an '04 and here is his dyno.

Mods:

255lph fuel pump, 660cc injectors, mopar BOV, K&N FIPK Intake, Borla exhaust... tubing with Mopar resonator, 3" non-catalytic convertified downpipe, Exhaust Depot hardpipe and a wastegate actuator...

So I don't know that they're putting out 245rwhp stock, maybe fly wheel hp. Those aren't bad numbers though.

I have no idea how much these things weigh.

I'm not denying they're fast, and I don't think anyone else is. But there are cheaper, easier ways to go much faster.

A new car that cost $20k and runs 14's....an '04 Mustang GT is the only one I can think of. The '05's go for $25k, still not a bad deal.

I'm an American car man. I live in Maryland. At Budds Creek MIR race track. They had a Domestic vs. Import competition. The stock SRT-4s were whipping the paint off of the stock GTs.

Different cars will respond to mods and act differently depending on the elevation and temperature. All I know is SCC dyno'd a completely stock 03 SRT4 to 240ish hp.

but still, depending on how well that specific car right there is tuned, those are some good numbars.

oh yeah, an 04 GT may go for 20 grand now with rebates to get them off the lots... but before the 05s came out, they weren't going for that... unless you worked for Ford.

Where you see that? You sure you're not checking the 04 V6 model?

I just went to the overview models for the 04s and the V6 starts at 18,800 where as the GTs start at 24,300.

I've seen stock SRT-4's with traction (slicks) run 13.2. I have 2K of mods, and should be mid 12's with slicks.

Fwd is a hell of a lot safer thats for sure. Less drive train loss to.

why did you buy RWD then? sounds like you think FWD is better, sell the mach and buy a civic

Where did i say fwd is better? I said its safer and loses less hp through the drivetrain which is all true. Why you getting all pissy?
Saleen is just one of those guys that thinks that any car that isn't his own really sucks. He just needs to realize that there are so many different aspects of a car that different people like for different reasons. I don't drive a mustang, because my personal preference is that it is too heavy. I prefer lighter cars. That doesn't mean that I think anything that isn't an SRT-4 sucks. that is just what I chose to buy. Of course there are some faster cars than mine, of course there are some better handling cars than mine, of course there are louder rumbling cars than mine, but I bought what I liked, and I still love it. I'm not wrong for that. I'd be wrong for insulting all of you guys for getting a Mustang, when I think you were"stupid" for not buying an SRT-4. Hey, it's not what appealed to you, and that's fine. Let's get off this baby crying!!

Ok 98 tell me how an ls1 would even come close to the mileage that an srt4 would have? the turbo isnt always spooling there bud! And it does beat stock GTs quite easily and those arent 16 second rides are they? Any car has its limits and you will just have to spend more money to make more power. These cars are putting down over 500 horse on stock internals and i havent heard of anyone hitting their limit yet on em. Also there are some in the 11s and 12s and its not hard or very expensive to hit 12s. Theres a guy who ran 11.8 on the stock turbo for only 650 bucks! Go ahead and call it a waste of time and money its cool. Im just glad more than half the people posting on the subject realize its a quick lil car so to you guys thanks! And to saleen thats a sweet body kitted gt bro! haha
