Default RE: plug recomendation

I have an 1990 mustang gt 5.0 that I bought new for my daughter when she turned 16. It has 159,000 miles and still running strong fora 17 year old vehicle. She has really taken good care of it. I bought new Auto lite platinum plugs and was told to gap them at .040. That didn't work. It doesen't want to idle after a cold start.[] The sticker is missing from the fan shroud that shows the proper gap. PLEASE HELP!!!!! Does anyone know the plug gap of a 1990 gt 5.0.[X(][&o]
