What was the fastest year of the mustang 5.0? I've heard Gt, LX, one has ground effects, and all which is the best, and or the fastest?

I've heard that some people consider the 87 LX as being one of the fastest,don't know for sure.

87 really? LX? Is the LX generally faster? What's the differance between GT/LX?

the lx notchback with a 5-speed should be the fastest.The lx is lighter then the gt. no ground effects and the notchback doesnt have the heavy hatchback window.<edited><editID>dohc_cobra</editID><editDate>37900.9695833333</editDate></edited>

tops out lower or cant be stable at high speeds or something ive heard cause of the lack of those ground effects

Yea I'bve always heard hatches were better suited for road racing and notches for drag racing, and the lx being lighter</P>
