First off, I have a Dodge Charger

My name is Justin, just wanted to tap the water for mustangs in the area, I live in Fairfax, VA. Everytime I try to race a Mustang they never want to race? Or they tell me that they dont wanna get beat. I mean that is fine, but its all for fun, as long as its done safe you know? I have raced 07 911 turbos knowing I will be beat.

But I think the race for me right now is the Mustangs, I use to race my friends down in Stafford. But now I live in fairfax and don't know alot of people here.

Remember just because we are different cars and competition, the real enemy is those ricers. AMERICAN MUSCLE BABY!!!!

I havent seen a Charger yet, I know they have State troopers with Chargers, and down in stafford. They have a Black charger.

I live not far from you near Leesburg. You probably won't see me on the road because FFX County cops would pull me over in a second if I drive up that way in my STi =P It probably wouldn't be much of a race for you anyway [8D]

You might see a white, blacked out Lexus pimpin around near Chantilly though! No need to worry about me in that car though, it's slow ;)

Your WRX with all that horsepower must be fast.

My friend has a 06, STI, and I use to beat him all day everyday, until he got a chip and some other crap...

EVO and STI are in a class of their own...just to small for me...1. I like v8s, 2. I am 6'6...

what mods do you have?

All I have currently is intake, and exhaust. KW racing suspension varient 2, American Racing wheels, RK custom front end, aftermarket headlights...

They just released a cam/heads in March that I want, so i am thinking of ordering it...they are still testing alot of stuff for our cars because of the market is not huge like your Mustang market.

Like I said our market is not big, so I have been waiting...PLUS, everything is expensive as hell.

Dont worry im not a ricer, everything on the car is something I have, I have more exterior and suspenion work...I can out handle a SRT easy, and many many other cars.

i bought my GT when i was 22 (i'm 25 now) and was concerned about the whole warranty thing. my supercharger was the 4th mod i did to my car. i never once took my car in to be serviced. so i've had my blower on for most of my car's life and had no problems, EVER. she's not exactly streetable now, so i just got a second car to drive. i'd say screw the warranty and go all out.

I wouldn't bother with an extended warranty if you're planning on heavily modifying your car.

i already had the PS2 one, so i got the 360 one. yeah, that thing sucks major ass. i was going off on it and it wasn't even hitting. you also have to tilt the guitar to where it's almost diagnol on the opposite side of playing to go into star power. only reason i got it is for the extra songs and the future downloadable content. otherwise the ps2 one is much better.

it also makes my gamerscore look better:D

4000 pounds is alot to push around

Yea! I'd like to see the numbers and torque curve. Best I've seen out of an R/T is around 280 whp. You're 40 to 50 better with a CAI and exhaust at the rear tires... You must have a freak.

When Chargers start coming in 2-doors and a manual transmission, I MIGHT consider getting one. I was real disappointed when I found out that they didnt come in manual....the 4-doors I can deal with.

Personal preference alert! I prefer sports cars in manual, just how I feel. I drive my Mustang in the traffic, it does suck sometimes.

do you have to deal with rt50 + 66 + DC traffic every day? i don't care what time you hit 66, you're almost guarenteed traffic. i hit traffic coming home from kings dominion at 10:00pm on a sunday!

I do RT 7 + Toll Road + 495 + RT 50, Pentagon City Mall.

It's not to bad in the morning, but at night it can take me up to 2 hours to get home. I should really just take the Metro. Can't wait for it to come out to Ashburn! - :D

there's plenty of metro busses in ashburn though. i sometimes just drive to the park & ride and just catch the bus + train. less miles on my car and it's only about $6/day total.

I am planning to go there, just need to do a tune on my end, new fuel filter, replace a header bolt and fix my door handles (60+ hours a week for work and a 1 year at home, eats up all my time - :D)

That sucks! I'm young and had to move back in with my parents for awhile. I finall found a good stable job, started a family and just bought a townhouse in Leesburg. I hope it works out for you. Could the temp jobs help pay for the house?

I went it was very fun...I couldnt get my tires to grip...it didnt rain down there until about 700pm or 1900...

that was my 2nd time ever going to the track...I beat some mustangs. One mustang, crashed in to the rail. It was sad...I hope everything works out for him.

I heard that old dominion has bad Track prep during T&T days.

This is after my minor mods, I got 8.8...I coudnt get traction...I dont remember ever catching tires until about 30 feet...its sad I know. I beat a couple mustangs there.

Some of them had 4.10 gears? and intake and exhaust, that stuff.

I got beat by one mustang, he was running 8.7 most of the time, But I beat him once also...but that time he ran a 8.9 something...

They were nice guys, they said they are on these forums. They didnt know about this thread.

My bad, I test drove a ChargerR/Tbefore I bought my GT and I thought it had a 6 spd.
Must be just the SRT8. Althought I also test drove the GTO so that could me getting me confused.
My Wife drives a 2004 Chrysler 300M and it has a"Slap Stick" type shifter
but it's a 4 speed.

Then I am confused, the GTO and the GT500 are the only ones with a 6 speed then

OK if I saw you I would probably race you but YES Fairfax, Prince William, Stafford and VA State all have Chargers and several of them that I have seen are unmarked, with illegal or close to it tint, 20" wheels and SRT8s so I usually will not race a charger on the road. Oh and Spotsy is getting them.

In fact I almost got nailed by one I was gonna try to race, but then a guy a few cars lengths ahead did something stupid and the cop lit up the lights. Untill he hit the lights you would never know, there are NO antennas on the back, and the lights are the thin LED setups that blen with the roof line inside the car and hide behind the grill.


i drove by that chick fil a by dulles mall friday night and there was nobody there. it was about 7:00. i was going to pick up guitar hero from best buy and was gonna stop by if there were some nice rides there.


I whent by with my friend Dash but yea there were not alot of people there, then again we did get there at like 9:30

Nice, I am going to be installing a cam and heads, maybe we will be close? But if you are getting forced induction or supercharger...I dont think so, forcing is always a little faster...

I have raced alot of the newer mustangs, I like racing them, the charger R/T and a mustang are actually good races.

I can't even make the tires spin in first gear after I fixed my exhause leak! - [:@]

Ithe exhaust leakand replaced the fuel filter this weekend, which my brother noticed that my fuel tank was leaking and said I would probably needa new one. I have a video of what happens. The car revs but doesn't go anywhere and then all of a sudden it take off like a bat out of hell. I hope to get my fuel tank soon.

Bad News....
Justin and I arrived at the Drag Strip and it was Closed due to Computer Failure..
This was the second time we have tried to get together with no luck. so they say third times the charm
so we are going for it next Wednesday. Needless to say we were Pissed... We both took off early from work to
get there on time.

My hearing and eye site suck, LOL I just hate doing that while theres traffic on the road. you never know what the old lady in the buick will do or the soccer mom in the minivan yelling at the kids not paying attention to the road. it's too unpredictable out there.

when I was younger I had a very close call while racing on the street, and almost took out several cars, I was able to avoid them but in the process I went off the road, hit two trees. I was not seriously injured but it could have been worse. So thats why I am a bit apprehensive doing that.

Anyway, from the way your car pulls I think we will be dead even in the 1/8. you have a Factory Freak for sure. I mean 324 RWHP with the intake and exhaust is fantastic.

As for the Gears... I would call Excessive Motorsports in Manassas. Chris is the Gear god...
Tell them you are with the Northern Virginia Mustang club. I paid 500.00 for gears and install. so they should charge you 300-350 for install. and yes dyno tunes will run you between 150.00 - 250.00 where ever you go.

I have three kids, all one year apart, when they were 1, 2 and 3 I worked two 40 hour a week jobs one 8am-5pm and the other was 8pm-5am ... the second one was monitoring a computer systems backups at night, I would set the attention buzzer and I slept on the floor next to an AS/400 thats depressing.

You gotta do what you gotta do to support the family, my wife is a stay at home mom, it's tough, but it's good for our daughter.

I try my best to get sleep when I can. I am running off of two hours of sleep right now, went and saw Spiderman 3 last night.

I have tought about getting a second job. I figure it will get better in time.
