Default Does it really work?-boost bypass.

Hi! According to RPM when you do the boost bypass you will keep the factory boost setting all the way to redline. Well I did that yesterday and havent really notice any difference, also when I read the Cobra tuning tips it says its a waste doing this instead just disconnect the plug with red/green wire thats half way down the EGR tube and it will do the same thing! So which one does it really work?

I've also read you shouldn't mess with the bypass, it's there for a reason, to prevent damage. The best thing to do is to get a smaller upper pulley, a gatorback belt, possibly an added tensioner, and a tight tune. Also, you can go more drastic and get the lower pulley swapped, but that can be expensive in labor costs, unless you do it yourself.

dunno about the Cobra's but my friend picked up 2 mph and .3 tenths with just a boost bypas on his stock Lighting The "boost bypass" mod doesn't affect the operation of the boost bypass valve - at least not on the Lightning, it only helps him hold his boost on the top end and when he shifts, where it used to fall slightly. Its a controversal mod though, some say it works some say it don't, some say it works more on auto's (hence not the Cobra's) some say it don't work at all... but no doubting it worked on his lighting.
