This morning, while I was driving my wife to work I was sitting at a light with a regular car next to me.Then a yellow charger rolls up. We where on a nice long 60mph tru road, so nothing better for a little morning fun.I look over to my wife, and said: I think we got game. My wife was all like: "Please don't" but you know us boys... Boys will be boys...
But nope, he obviously noticed it, and did get off the line more quickly, but not full blast. So I punched it after following him. I gained, but he stopped my roll almost instantly once he noticed. He then started to edge forward, but not by much. Then when we roll side by side I see the SRT8 badge. "Oops" I said to my wife, since I thoughtit was an R/T. It sure looked like one. It had "superbee" stickers on the side.
The next light I had to be behind him, he gunned it, and I followed. He walked away from me, but not as much as I would have thought. Still, it's a nice 4 door. Something Ford obviously lacks... Both times we went till about 80. Not over the top, but still a nice race.
The next light we where side by side, but there was traffic in front of us. So no go there.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that in my top post. I am bone stock. Everything as it was out of the factory. Maybe he was just a ****ty driver... But then again, those cars have an automatic tranny, so pretty much foolproof when you are on a roll (save for the downshift that eats so much time).
And I even had the added weight of my wife while he was alone(150 lbs with clothes and the usual femaleaccesories such as a purse with to much crap to comprehend ). In the past I never thought weight mattered, but boy... once you have seen it at the track, you'll know it does...

Just an observation, but there shouldn;t be SRT8 badges on the sides of an SRT8. Should just be a Hemi badge. If it was indeed a Super Bee, there are aonly about 1,100 production units. A very, very, rare sighting.
Iraced a srt8 charger when i first got my stang and lost by about 2-3 cars form 40-100....after i got my intake, tune, andexhaust i raced another one from the same 40 roll but ended a littlelater about 115 or sowith it being pretty much dead even

I can't remember where I saw that SRT8 badge. It must have been when I rolled up behind him then. All I remember was the typical "Oops" moment we all have when you realise what car you just toyed with.
But this was around Plano Texas, on Hwy 121 towards Stonebriar Mall (frisco). And it seems there is a lot of nice cars around there (too many people with to much bloody money).
Ive had a couple encounters with SRT8 Chargers.First time I was stock & we went from a dig.He spun like crazy & I didnt. He couldnt close the distance before the end of the 1/4.My second encounter was with mods and he had exhaust for sure(I could hear it!),it was'nt pretty for the SRT8 Charger.....From what Ive heard they dont have a very big aftermarket for those cars as we do.But for a 4 door it kicks ass!

I cruise the charger forums quitea bit, and the 1/4 times for stock srt-8's are from the high 12's to the low 13's.
Your GT did well to hang with one.
Good job.
