has anyone read any articles about the new 2005 Steeda Q400 or SYQ-SC?
heres a sneak peak:

it looks kind of hot-wheelish but id definately want to drive one. Ford and Steeda have been making quite a comotion over this car stating that it has received "100% high-performance driving statisfaction," from many famous car guru's, mainly from the domestic and import markets, that were able to test drive it. im anxious to see the SYQ-SC in action (the supercharged 3-valve gt motor.)
you gotta give it up to Ford for the SEMA Technology Transfer Program. which will means more parts are being produced for the '05 mustang than any other car IN HISTORY. the parts will soon be cheaper and more available because of all the different competitiors that will be trying to grab your attention. all i can do is sit and read the results as this new '05 mustang aftermarket will become JUST AS BIG as the 5.0 industry---soon but not now, but soon. all i got to say is lets see the steeda in action, preferably against a car thats in its class... one of the only cars in its class... a GT-P.

Steeda's cars are pretty nice rides, and I like the effort. Steeda was trying hard to get their car in the car value books, ie. Nada and Kelly last year, and are in the same process this year. Steeda knows that for their car to be a complete package and not a bolt-on tuner car for value, they need to have their car exist in a car value book. That is what Steeda has been pushing hard all last year, with not too much luck. One thing the car value guys want out of Steeda is more dealership selling locations before they put the Q400 in a value book. Right now Steeda has around 3-6 ford dealerships you could walk on to and buy a Q400 brand new. If they can get their car in the value books, it will help the long-term value of their car tremendously, and make it a complete 'car' and not a gt with bolt-ons and a body kit. One thing I will say about Steeda is they do a good job with their r&d on their stuff, and their engineering is pretty good. Better than Roush, in my opinion.

I think a lot of the Steeda stuff individually is better that Saleen. As far as a finished product, I think Saleen is better, mostly because they have had more years of practice. I'll say this, though; you'll never hear me bad mouth Steeda, ever. Steeda does a great job.

i agree. but, they are also 2 different categories. look at what steeda has done to the "tuner" mustangs and cobras the last couple of years. winning races against other "tuner" vettes, vipers, mercedes... they make and design all their own parts out of florida which delivers a type of performance unlike all others. and plus, you got to admit that the new Steeda Q400 looks a lot better than the new Saleen.---just my personal opinion. so, although i have a saleen kit on my car, i'd say Steeda is better because of their tight-new-relationship with Ford.

...Looks are subjective, and I think the new Saleen style is hard to beat. Saleen's relationship with Ford is pretty good as well, especially now since Saleen is building the Ford GT for Ford. The bottom line is that Steeda does a great job, and I trust their product engineering, something i can't say for a lot of other companies.

Im a big fan of saleen but with the exeption of the 351, steeda will outrun a saleen. Im speaking of the s/c model of course.

The Q400 will outrun a n/a S281, might outrun a S281sc, but won't outrun a S281E. As a matter of fact, with the centrifugal blower on it, the Q400 probably won't outrun a standard S281sc.

the Steeda Q400 is rated at 350 hp which is compared to the Saleen S281 which is at 325hp. both the Steeda Q400SC is and the Saleen 281SC are rated at 400hp, although Steeda claims that they are still in the process of revision and will make even more hp. but Saleen really starts to get crazy with its S281E which will make more than 500hp. all i got to say is HOLY CRAP!!!

Great example. -Although Saleens shifter isn't bad, the tri ax is better.

It's nice to see that magical 500 hp # agian out of a Saleen product. (SR doesn't count) It seems like the 500 hp mark is the 'Magical" # people wanted to see. Remeber the S351 was a pushrod v8 with a Vortech blower. Going modular with a screw should make this new e car a lot more refined than the S351's ever were. We shall see. It looks as though the new 3 valve motor will accept boost quite well.

s281E 1/2 is 12.78 @ 109.40 from motortrend
steeda Q400 is 12.7 @111.7 mm&ff
steeda is a **** hair faster but it all depends on the drivers. Steeda has 425 to the wheels and 450 at the crank. saleen is 425 at the crank and 400 to the wheels.

The 1/4 time on the E car was done in 02, when the hp rating was 425. After 02, they went with a smaller blower pulley and upped the hp to 445. After the hp bump, magazines were getting 11.60's on slicks. The new E car, with 500+ hp will way outclass the Q400. But yes, I would say on the earliest of e cars, with the hp at 425, they are close.

Don't get me wrong; the Steeda car is a great package and is fast. Hey, is Steeda offering a KB blower option on the new car?
damn that looks sweet. on the new 05 mustangs, Steeda is trying to lure in many drifting enthusiasts that werent there in the past. their R&D this time around focused mainly on the suspension and handling aspects of the new mustangs because of their completely revamped suspensions. thats where the comparision of Steeda and Saleen stop. the Steeda Q400 is a track car not a straight-line performer. as far as in the blower, i dont know if steeda really works wit KB, its usually vortech or paxton.

Thats right, steeda is not a 1/4 mile car. Its all about the ciruit races. Thats what i like, thats why im a fan of steeda products. Top notch.;)
