Default start up, blue smoke

I recently noticed that my car puffs a little blue on startup now, it is about -6Celcuis. I only noticed this after I installed the headers, removed the cats, and installed the cold air induction and 87 octane tune. I ran out and it smelt heavy of gas. Now, could this mean that the car is running a little rich? I can tell when its idleing that there is some unburnt gas fumes, but I just assumed that this is from not having the cats? Car doesn't smoke at all under any load, so I'm not all too worried about it, still feels just as powerful as before, I am just wondering if this is an indication of my car running rich?

Mine Puffs to on start up. You have to remember the car will run in open loop upon start up (stupid mode running of preset calibrations). It's also gonna run richer to heat up the cats and cut down on emissions faster (if there were cats). Its pretty normal to see with no cats.Mine will even puff at wide open throttle.

blue smoke is burnt oil. black smoke is gas. Blue smoke at start up is probably worn valve seals. Mustangs are known for that crap. My '98 did it. boooooo

I know blue smoke is burnt oil, but can't it sometimes be gas as well. I didn't smell any kinda oil at all when I started it up, just gas. My exhaust tips are pretty black as well on the inside. Hopin to get it dyno tuned here soon. Car currently has 28000kms.

If there's orange smoke - you ate too many buffalo wings... blue smoke is normal after you install any kind of parts that are aft of the engine.. they usually have a thin coating which burns off after a lil while

The blue smoke is from the engine burning oil....but doesn't mean you have a problem. The pcv hose on the drivers side is probably sucking some oil and oil vapors into the intake. If you pull off the throttle body you may see some oil laying in the intake. You can install an inline oil seperatorin the hose running from the drivers side valve cover to the intake manifold. You will be surprised at how much oil goes into the intake. More common with f/i vehicles, but even a cai can worsen it because of theincreased airflow....
