Yes I have a 96 Maxima SE 5speed with intake/ypipe/17s and I raced my friend with a older 5.0 Mustang 5speed. He has flowmaster mufflers and drop in filter. Just thought I'd tell you guys about our race. Well...

I completey destroyed him. We both in 2nd and went from 30mph-around 95mph. I had 4-5 cars on him by the end of 3rd(95). Then we raced again from a stop. He had the jump on me until 4k in 1st(about 1car length). Then I started walking him bad. I passed him in 2nd and kept goin. I think he quit around 120mph cause he was bout 6 cars back. I was really shocked because I know nothing about Mustangs. His car is LOUD AS HELL so it kinda scared me at the beginning. But his 5.0 aint all that.

guys guys! I'm not trying to rip on anyone here. I just thought I'd share a fun race with you. And to let you know that Maxima's can be fair game to any Mustang...well maybe except for the SVTs and modded newer GTs. I know that Stangs have much more potential than the Maxima 3.0L V6 but for the street, they're fair game.

Fastest Maxima ever(according to Maxima.org)-11.9 1/4 mile.

haha, thanks man.

11.9? That's the fastest? WEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAK.

Fastest satty (streetable) was about 11.3 with a T3/T4. That's on a domestic, sub 2 liter mill, daily driven, with slicks. Japanese cars ain't got sh*t on good ol American inginuity and engineering.

how can sho beat me? The fastest ones(94-95) run 15.0-15.4. I ran a 14.8 stock. Iknow they're quick cars but Maxima's are just that much faster.

PS I'll run your stang anytime anywhere you want

Jeep: why because I'm faster than you?

You ran a 14.8 stock and you added a K&N and a Y-pipe and you're pulling a 5.0 by 6 cars??? I'm gonna have to call BS on this one. Most 5.0's run mid 14's stock, so to be pulling him by 6 cars, you would have be at least a low/mid 13 second car. Not possible with a K&N and Y-pipe. You don't have the torque for that. No way you pulled your friend's 5.0 in 2nd gear. Either you're full of it or your friend REALLY sucks at driving. Granted, the newer model Maxima's are pretty quick (240 hp or something like that), but they're not THAT quick. Race someone who knows how to drive.

I agree with you on that one. My friend can not drive very well. He's been driving for a couple months but I've seen the way he drives. I was with him when we lost to a Mercedez AMG. He tried to downshift to 1st while rolling at 20mph?!? I was like, what are you doing, shift to 2nd not 1st. But thats not why we lost anyway, those AMGs are SICK ASS CARS!

Anyway, his car feels much slower than mine. I've driven his car and yes it does have the grunt 'off the line' but then it just feels slow for some reason. That explains why he had me off the line when we raced. no bs

^Word.

Stock times mean jack. There's different restriction amounts on different cars.

The reason I don't give a flying rats ass: I absolutely hate Jap cars. A Maxima, faster than a domestic.....damn, that's funny.

No reason to hate Japanese cars...I think there's a couple turbo'd Corollas around that *might* give you a run for your money...at least in auto-x.. :P

However, since I don't own a 'stang (yet), I suppose my opinion is invalid.

I also do not own a stang. I know of MANY turbo'd Saturns that will eat toys and hamsters alive in Auto-X. We have an amazing, and rare thing in I4's...torque.
