Out of curiosity, how much torque do they have? I'm running ~120hp/120tq stock..lol..

we all understand that your not trying to rip on anyone, but this a mustang forum the last time i checked, and no one here wants to hear a story from a maxima owner about how he beat down a 5.0. especially a story that's not completely acuate.

He was correct to downshift to 1st at 20 mph if he has stock gears. The point is to start in the powerband or you're gonna lose. And if you think your Maxima feels faster than the 5.0, then either somethings wrong with the car, or you don't know how to drive either.

I really don't see a reason to doubt his story. Maxima's and Mustangs are pretty evenly matched and a slightly modded Maxima should be able to take a stock or close to stock Mustang.
I've raced two GT's, one was a mid 80s and we were even on the highway from 60-118 when I hit my limiter. The other was at the track, I ran against a early 90s stang with intake, exhaust, MSD ignition, ect. He ran a 14.8 to my 15.3 and all I have is an intake.
For cars that are relatively even in performance, I will take the comfort and reliability of the Maxima over the rattles of the Mustang.

The '96 GT I just drove (*drool*) wasn't rattling...had a small exhaust leak, I think...but I was very happy.. :D

Hey, we're all entitled to our own opinions, but just because you don't know anything about a certain car, don't group it with all the other jap cars, 'cause they are not all the same.
Gus, anytime you want, I'll let the Maxima show your green 'vert a thing or two about speed. :)

I dont recall you ever saying that about the Vette...........LOL!!!
I think I may take that challenge and defend the FORD badge for the FIRST TIME EVER!!!! I have always been a Rustang Basher, looked forward to killing them, but now I must put on my other hat and t-shirt, and defend the FORD Nation! Its not easy being me!
Life as a double agent.....not all thrills and chics!
That Maxima is going DOWN!!! Why dont you put some groceries in the backseat, because when I am done with it, it will be just another grocery getter like all the RICERS!!!!!! If and when, I beat you, you will have to put a tag frame or sticker on the back of the car that says, "when I grow up, I want to have AMERICAN MUSCLE!"
LOL!!!! Jude is a cool Ricer, that has Torque Envy Syndrome! But a good guy nonetheless! Really!

Dude, its a mustang forum and we are talking about Mustangs. I wasn't going to get involved either, until I saw all of you bad-mouthing the Maxima. Most of you probably haven't riden in or even seen a Maxima run. All of you were saying that no maxima can hang with a mustang and that the guys story was BS. I was just supporting his story that yes, its possible.
Its just like my buddy Gus, he was pro american cars only and disrespected the Maxima in the beginning, but after seeing me run against our other buddies Boxster and Audi A4 and embarassing him, he gives props to the Maxima, and he drives a high 12sec 'vette.
All I'm saying is don't be bias and throw the Max in with the rest of ricemobiles.

Guys, I get an e-mail every single time someone posts on here. This means I come home to several hundred e mails every day that I am supposed to read and make sure they are ok to go on this forum. PLEASE>>>> have a heart and only post if you have something intelligent to say. Its bad enough I have to deal with losers at work all day I dont want to come home and hear about 15 second maximas and other clear taillighted, 6 inch mufflered, stupid blue lights where your washer fluid comes out, pieces of sh!t.
