I don't know, I'll buy bought and tell you which one I think is the best.

No but seriously, I would rather have the 2008 Shelby, seems more of a collector's car and also.. as they point out...

"Still, the KR will get a new, lower 3.73 rear axle (versus the GT500's 3.31), which withthe additional ponies should improve acceleration significantly (expect the KR to rocket from 0 to 60 mph in about four seconds flat or less-Z06 territory)."

I'd take the KR in a heartbeat. It's what the GT500 "should" have been from the start.

I think maybe I'd rather have the Saleen when comparing stock cars. It's lighter, more powerful, and IMO just looks better. Ever since the GT500 was released all I've heard was with over 100 extra horses it's barely quicker than the terminatorcobra and it cant outperform the base vette. I'm not saying it sucks but I kinda think its overrated, but that's just my opinion as of right now.

I do agree about the weight and all......but at the end of the day, the S281E is just a 3V GT with a built engine. With the GT500KR, you have a forged 4V 5.4. Lots more room for potential there IMO.

Well yea I'd would rather have the GT500 for it's potential. But, When comparing only bone stock cars I'd take the Saleen. I've just heard the GT500 can't outrun the base corvette much less its competetion the Z06. I'm not much of a chevy person but I think it's safe to say that they have really done their homework on the C6 vettes/

To each his own. But if someone offered me two sets of keys.......one to an S281E, and the other to a GT500KR.............the KR would be mine. I've not been the biggest proponent of the GT500 since they came out, but the KR has changed my mind about the new Shelby in a pretty big way. I'd love to have an S281E as well, don't get me wrong.......but it will never be a true factory production model mustang. And when it comes down to it.........I could build an S218E for probably half of what it'd cost to buy one. Probably less than that actually.

But in fairness to the point of the thread, I think....in stock form....the S218E would have the KR in acceleration and power. No doubt.
