Just as a heads up I will say that I have PM many of the people who have had issues to try and help, in actuality less then 50% answer me back or give me the info needed to help! While Saleen is not perfect, this many times is a 2 way street.

I, for one, do thank SAR for helping me out with my E. When it was having problems with the PCM, SAR was the one that helped me fix the issue. Knock on wood, no problems with my E so far!

The Saleen Inc. in Irvine, is so good at fixing these 2006 Extreme's. Yeah RIGHT, that's why they had mine for 2-weeks & 100+miles later & give it back to me with Boost Gauge not working. Then 3-days sitting in my gargage, I go to show it to a friend & NOTHING works again, back to square 1. Yeah they can fix minor problems(like fixing a horn button that the glue has worn off).

Like it was mentioned earlier, either get them to buy it back(another joke) or LEMON LAW it. If you're in Calif. e-mail me direct.

Also, heard thru the Grapevine that Steve Saleen as of Jan 01, 2007 is just with Saleen Inc. as Name only & goes to shows & signings. But is not actually associated with the Saleen Inc. anymore. Hmmm

I'm sorry that everyone here is having such bad luck with there Saleens. I have REALLY enjoyed my car since the firs tday I bought it. Even buying the car was a great experience. SAR, Carlos, Molly, and Ned have been great. I think the longest I have had to wait to get a question answered was 24 hours. I can easily say that I am a Saleen nut for life. I can't wait to see there new extreme for 2010.

Really? Gee, I was there last week, too, and looked at the car pretty closely, and the only paint problem I saw was a small stone chip at the very front of the hood.

I washed and waxed my custom-painted Saleen yesterday, getting down on my back to get the undersides of the bodywork, and can confidently state that every freaking millimeter of the paint job is flawless (aside from minor they-warned-me-about-it scuff marks at the edges of the hood from the bra).

Maybe it will start peeling off next week. I have my fingers crossed.

be sure to monitor the chrome on your wheels very closely as well as the paint job.

Because the guy i know at saleen made a phone call when i asked what the production numbers were. The file was pulled and he told me that there was 162 extremes made in 2006 and 4 were tungsten grey with the scenic roof.

i agree lol. what exactly are you trying to say? lol.

IMO - saleen might have some "problems" which is usual the first year of a new body style until they are all worked out, but come on....the scenic roof falling apart, paint falling apart....a little over exadurated id say. :

Lookey likey one of those under-paid techs at Saleen got tired and didn't scuff up every little area of your hood before they painted it.

Hopefully, thats the ONLY place they missed. If not, you will have more paint peeling off.

No scuff=no adhesion.

Dotbomb -- would you mind posting pix of the paint issues with your hood?

Here ya go.  It is just starting and is on the edge facing the driver side.  Probably the only reason I noticed it right away is because of how it reflects light differently as I'm driving.

Is this right by the front windshield?  ..... its from having the windshield wiper arms up and opening the hood, by accident! ... just take a little touchup paint and brush it gently, no problem!

Yes it is. That's what I initially thought too.  I don't recall doing that on this car though and I inspected the wiper arm when I first discovered this problem and didn't see any paint transfer.

If the spot gets larger I'll know for sure.

Ouch Saleen100. You REALLY hate Saleen. Its not for everyone. Does anyone know how much Saleen charges to have the car painted after taking delivery?
