I know you probably don't want to hear this but it is best if you have something you don't really care about as a first vehicle. Just the learn the basics of driving and get used to it; every young driver needs experience at driving. Chances are, you will probably get into an accident, whether it be your fault or not. One day you will have your dream car and you will truely appreciate it.
let me tell you somthing my second car was a 1989 5.0 mustang, i had the car and my license for 23days before my first ticket, 95in a 55.... i lost my license for 6months then i got pulled over in it again..... try and stay away from muscle cars till you are comfortable driving and you know where all the cops sit hahahah i'm sure everyone can back me up on this one
My first car i had to earn. It was an Opel Kadet station wagon. I was just glad to have some wheels when i was sixteen. I got my first Mustang at 26 so hang in there. Now i'm working on my third stang. If you really want it and it's not a passing fancy then work for it, save for it and you will eventually have it! Good luck. P.S. if you got the urgh to race do it on a track not the street.
Don't worry about it...it took me 30 yrs to get me a stang...
I am with ya, I am 36 & just got mine last week.
49 and got mine a little over 3 weeks ago. First car was a 65 Plymouth Valiant, $300 at a local gas station. That was in 1975... man I'm getting old. Or as Jimmy Buffett says "Growing old but not up!"
some kids are just idiots. if your parents buy you an expensive, fast, nice ass car then chances are you arent gonna give a **** about it cuz you dont know the value of a dollar. im 17 and i worked my ass off 2 jobs for a summer just so i could buy my car and havnt got a scratch on it,
I have to agree, get used to how driving is like while you're still young, then you'll appreciate the really nice cars when you're older. I was 24 when I got my license (yeah, OLD, but I'm from NYC originaly) and my first car was a Focus. The day after I bought that (wrote a check for that one!) I got pulled over and got a ticket. This year I traded in the Focus and financed the Stang, then I was gone for a week. Not sooner than three weeks after I got my car, I got into a minor accident and lost her for a week! I guess having a V6 instead of a V4 got to my head. So even us older new drivers have to get used to the power.
Just sayin, you'll appreciate it so much more when you know how to drive it. :)
